WP11-Building upon the success of the CLIL4U scenarios, and the enthusiastic response from teachers, parents and children, ICMG is developing a large number of new CLIL scenarios involving other schools. Digital Storytelling is being used to explore one topic (LANDSCAPES) from 4 different aspects:Historical- Emotional- Biological- Ecological/Technical
Teachers from schools who have attended CLIL4U courses at ICMG have now formed a pool of teachers interested in taking the CLIL concept further, under the guidance of ICMG. They now form hubs within their schools for the implementation of CLIL, and are in the process of developing and trialling CLIL scenarios which deal with the topics above indicated.
Since both ICMG and KGS in Denmark have available and additional internal funds, CLIL4U activities will continue in the classroom, focusing on technological subjects, and ensuring continuity to the cooperation between the two schools. For ICMG this new financing will come from the Government, which has allocated a budget in every school for new technologies in CLIL (PNSD – National Programme for a Digital School). Since coding activities are already in ICMG and KGS, new CLIL scenarios focusing on coding will be created as part of this agreement.
Delays (if any) in planned activities and outputs (If applicable how will the team compensate for the delays and catch up):
Other comments:
The Italian Ministry for Education has already allocated over 9800 Euros to continue the project in the Milan province, under ICMG coordination.
Some schools, which until now have not been involved in CLIL, have already requested that ICMG teachers organize courses on their premises. These institutions will now contribute financially with their own resources for the new training activities. It is planned that the funds received by ICMG in this way will be utilized in the context of the implementation of a cooperation agreement between ICMG, SUPSI and ETI, which will involve each institution advertising its CLIL courses (short and full-time, blended, online and/or face-to-face) in a shared calendar, allowing potential participants to choose their preferred location and/or modality.
ICMG has also applied for and received funding from the Ministry of Education in Italy to continue developing the Digital Story-Telling project in Italy.
This project, which is an off-shoot and a result of CLIL4U, involves 7 schools (7), a large number of teachers and classes. Each school will then further disseminate CLIL in a dissemination event, which will reach an even larger number of schools, parents and children.
