Part 4: Supporting Documentation

  • A typed two-page (max) essay on why you want to be the CASE ASAP representative for your District. Include prior leadership experience with your student organization or other life experiences you think will be beneficial to CASE ASAP. Include additional experiences with other extracurricular activities and/or CASE ASAP, brief description of some of your personal and professional goals, and potential goals for the District during your term.
  • A one-page resume including formal education and leadership experience that qualify you for this position.
  • A one-page recommendation from your student organization’s adviser.

District Representative Application


Part 5: Position Description (Student and Adviser) and Sponsoring Institution Expectations

The District Representative will be expected to coordinate all District activities including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Serve a two-year term as a full voting member of the Executive Board and represent the concerns of their District at two scheduled board meetings in August and January.Seniors and graduate students are not eligible to apply.
  • Maintain regular communication with District members, theCASE ASAP Program Manager and your CASE District Board.
  • Solicit new student advancement programs to join CASE ASAP and encourage current CASE ASAP members to remain active.
  • Attend the annual Network Convention and your represented District conference.
  • Coordinate the selection process for your represented District conference host.
  • Assist with the District conference according to the “Guidelines for District Conference Hosts.”
  • Present a report to the District members in attendance at the District conference and Annual Network Convention.
  • Maintain a working relationship with your CASE District Board.

The duties of the District Adviser will be to:

  • Serve a two-year term as a non-voting member of the Executive Board and represent the views of an adviser and concerns of their District at all board meetings.
  • Assist and support the District representative in their duties as needed.
  • Assist with the transition to the next District representative.
  • Assist host school in planning adviser’s track at district conference if needed.
  • Fulfill the duties of the District representative if he/she is unable to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Assist at Annual Network Convention as needed.
  • Attend all District meetings to support District representative and help field questions.
  • Maintain communication with other advisers in District.
  • Host Adviser’s Reception to be coordinated with adviser of host institution for District conference.

Expenses:As the District Representative, there are a few expenses your institution will incur. Although these costs are modest and will vary by the size of your district and/or any extra participation you feel necessary, here is what you can expect to pay for:

  • The cost of telephone calls, printing and postage for any communication to the District’s membership and to the CASE ASAP office.
  • The expense of transportation of the District Representative to his or her District Conference (hotel and registration fee covered by the conference hosts.)
  • All Adviser expenses: Advisers are required to absorb all costs of attending the CASE ASAP Network Convention and the yearly Executive Board meeting held the day before the convention including transportation, registration and lodging expenses. CASE will cover these costs for the district representative.

The current district representative will be in contact with next steps, which may include presenting on why you should be the next district representative at your district conference.
