Part 1. Cereal Box Report

This month’s book report will be on a student selected biography book, on a member of the scientific community. Over the next few weeks, students will read their book and create a cereal box book report, and later a PowerPoint presentation at school and at home. Students will decorate acereal box with illustrations and information related to the person they chose to do their report on. Please follow the directions below.

Your book must be chosen by September 1st

YOUR BOX REPORT IS DUE ON October1st

FRONT OF THE BOX: Use a piece of white or light colored paper to cover the front of your cereal box. (You will probably want to create the cover before gluing it on your box.) Include the name of the person and a picture.

RIGHT SIDE OF BOX: List 5 interesting facts about the person.

LEFT SIDE OF BOX: Create a time-line containing at least 8 important events in the person’s life.

BACK OF BOX: Give a detailed account of the person’s life and the impact they had on history.

TOP OF BOX: Include the title, author, number of pages, and publisher. You can use the template or create the top of the box yourself as long as you include all of the things listed above.

Part 2. Power Points

Below is a list of REQUIRED slides for the project; they must include these slides within their Power Point presentation. However, students are encouraged to create more slides, pictures, information, fun fact ect. I want students to use their drive and creativity to make this project theirs, and unique.

Slide 1: Title Slide: Must include Title of the Book, Author and the individual’s name of whom they are researching. It must also include thestudent’s full name.

Slide 2:Over View Slide: Date Of Birth, Family, Education, Employment, and Date of Death

Slide 2:Major Life Events Slide:What did your person on interest accomplish, what made them famous, memorable or otherwise important.

Slide 4:Major Influences Slide: Why are they important/famous

Slide 5:Inspiration Slide: How did this person inspire you?

Slide 6: Citation Slide: This must include three sources. Their main book, an Internet source and another source of their choice must all be included.
