Monday 1st to Saturday 6th August

The National Assembly’s Portfolio Committee on Lands, Agriculture Mechanisation and Irrigation will be holding public hearings on the Land Commission Bill in various parts of Zimbabwe from Monday 1st July to Saturday 6th July. After the first hearing at Parliament on Monday, committee members will divide into two teams to hold hearings in other centres around the country – Team A will go to Banket, Gweru, Bulawayo, Hwange and Umzingwane; Team B will go to Concession, Wedza, Mutare and Masvingo. The programme is set out below.

Attendance at the Public Hearings

Interested groups, organisations, and members of the general public are welcome to attend these public hearings and give members of the Portfolio Committee their views on the Bill.

At the beginning of each public hearing, the chairperson will explain the procedure.

If you want to speak at a hearing, it will be helpful if you notify one of the committee clerks or public relations officers in attendance [see names below] before the hearing, if possible, so that he or she can notify the chairperson to call on you.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PERSONS WEARING MILITARY UNIFORMS, SIGNS OF RANKS, FLAGS OR BADGES AND POLITICAL PARTY REGALIA WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO A PUBLIC HEARING.
