Pat Griffith opened with prayer. Angela Corbett made a motion to accept the May 16, 2016 minutes as written. Joanne Bullock seconded the motion.
Reports:
PSR/Youth Ministry: Father reported that six children from St. Joseph finished Vacation Bible School. Youth will be leaving Saturday June 25, 2016 for Catholic Heart Work Camp in Springfield, IL. Gospel Road will be July 10-July 14 in Reynoldsburg. They will attend Holy Spirit in Whitehall and a reconciliation service at St. Pius X . The Kings Island Trip is July 27 and they will be leaving at 7 a.m. for one day only.
Deanery: Steve Ford reported that there are no meetings until September.
Finance: Fr. Ted states that we are still doing real well. There is money left over from last year’s budget. Utilities were less than last year, possibly due to new air conditioning. The meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Rectory.
Media: Mandy Jones sent message that if anyone needs anything to contact her.
OLD BUSINESS:
a. Restoration Steering Committee: This is the “Quiet Phase”. We need to have $790,000 before July. August will be the fund drive.
b. Change contact name on bulletin from Joanne Bullock to Pat Griffith as Parish Council Chair. Judy contacted Sara Lynn who stated that when the next bulletin cover is changed, that information will be changed also.
NEW BUSINESS:
a. Appreciation was expressed to Lisa Packer and Jim Williams for their tenure on Parish Council. A special thanks to Lisa Packer for preparing the Pastoral Council prayer that is used in the meetings.
b. Mater Dei Academy. Angela is now teaching at the Mater Dei Academy in Whitehall. She is requesting permission to have fund raising information placed in the bulletin, as well as selling raffle tickets outside after mass. Fr. Ted said he thought it would be okay. Joanne made a motion to allow Mater Dei Academy to publicize in our bulletin and sell raffle tickets. Steve Ford seconded the motion.
c. Spiritual Life committee: August 14 will be a reconciliation service and cook out. There will be a healing service in October. A Dominican Priest will visit in November and close the Year of Mercy. Requesting prayers for restoration fund drive.
Steve made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Angela seconded the motion.
The next meeting will be September 19th at 7 p.m. No meetings in July and August.
The meeting was closed with prayer.
