PTO Meeting Minutes

February 4, 2014 4pm

Present: Jen Elston, Beth Sharpless, Brandi Blose, Jenn Henry, Jess Malewicz, Bridget Huzar,, Jackie Attinello, Darlene Sanderson, Brandi Bazella

Update by Brandi Bazella regarding the event with Harlem Wizards on April 5th. Template for shirt passed around. Will be able to purchase it. Ticket order forms to go out soon.

Treasurer’s Report: Approved by Brandi Blose and Jenn Henry

January:

Income $1898

Expense $877

End of Month Ledger Balance: $17,289.34

Confirmed that teachers can start to submit their class trip requests.

January Meeting Minute Approval: Darlene Sanderson and Jenn Henry

Old business

·  Spring Book Fair (Darlene Sanderson): Have the 5th graders each pick out a book to donate to the school library, $75 to be given to each teacher again, the remainder of the profits will go to the library. Will again have the grandparent (or designee) event. $100 from the PTO approved to provide for healthy food for the morning event.

New business

·  100 Day Food Drive; Friday, February 7-Jen Anders

·  Family Fun Night: Thursday, February 13-Brenda Pun

·  Spring Festival: Wednesday, June 4-Jenn Henry-still in planning phases

·  Bridget: Mrs. Vines from the Emmaus Public Library is ill and there is a request for the students to do something to wish her well. Dr. Attinello to request that the teachers have students sign a card for her. Brandi and Dr. Attinello to expedite the read-a-thon for the Presidents day week-end, giving a portion of the proceeds to the Childrens wing at the Emmaus Public Library. Will also have a dress down day for the teachers, giving the proceeds to the Library as well. A request from Mrs. Vines family and friends to maintain privacy and respect during her time of illness.

·  Volleyball tournament: Mandy Pueyes coordinator

Fundraising (next meeting at Superior diner on February 18 at 0900):

·  Restaurant nights:

o  Pizza hut night was a huge success-we sold them out of food! $284 raised

o  Texas Roadhouse in Trexlertown: February 25th, 10% of proceeds to the PTO

o  Red Robin in March

o  Rita’s discount cards went home-order forms due by the end of the month

o  Plan for having a fundaraiser at Mixies: Mixies for a month-available for every weekend for a month-more to come.

Communications

·  Development of a website was approved by Dr. Attinello. Waiting on cost of it from Megan Snyder whose husband will develop it.

·  Newsletter to be distributed by February 7th

·  Production room-looking into monies for that
