1.  What special education services and/or other assistance does your child currently receive?

I think John Paul goes to Mrs. Expert’s RSP classroom for three subjects: reading, reading comprehension, and written language.

2.  When is your child successful during his/her school day? What is working?

He is not failing but he is very smart and can do better. I think he needs to work harder but someone needs to remind him to get started and keep going. He is very successful during PE.

3. What areas of difficulty does your child have and during which activities do these occur?

His grades are not what they need to be to get into a good four year college and he can do it with a little more help. I don’t want him to become an attitude problem. He doesn’t finish work he can do. He hates to write.

4.  What other school programs or support from other students does your child benefit from?

He gets special education. His special education teacher pulls him out sometime every day to help but it is not enough. He needs to be reminded. He goes to a special social skills group. Don’t know of anything else.

5.  What skills would you like your child to develop to be more independent?

I want him to do his work when he is asked and finish his homework. His grades will improve if he gets his work turned in.

6.  Is there anything else you’d like us to consider?

No.
