UNIFORMS REQUIRED!!

PANTS: Navy blue or khaki must be sized to fit and worn with a belt

if there are belt loops. Pants must extend below the ankle, but above the heel.

Pants may not be rolled up or folded. Belts must be black or brown only.

Belts are not required for Pre-K and Kindergarten. However,elasticized

waist pants are encouraged. Sweatpants, wind pants, or stretch pants are

not allowed. Clothing must have no holes or decorations.

JUMPERS, SHORTS/CAPRIS, SKIRTS, OR SKORTS: Navy blue or

khaki, no more than 2 inches above the crease at the backof the knee.

SHIRT OR BLOUSE: Solid(no emblem) red, white, or navy blue button shirt with collar; shirt tucked in at all times. Only a white t-shirt or turtleneck may be worn under uniform shirt.

SWEATER: Solid red, white, or navy blue sweater or sweat shirt with no emblems.

Clothing must have no holes or decorations.

HEAVY WEIGHT JACKET: Worn to and from school; no over-sized jackets

SHOES: Low heel closed-toe shoe with flat rubber soles; no sandals or slip-on shoes;

socks must be worn. Shoelaces must be black, brown, or white only, tied and strapped.

HATS, CAPS, HEAD COVERINGS: None allowed in the building

(exception - scout uniform or special events).

JEWELRY/ACCESSORIES: Not distracting (best left at home); school is not responsible

for loss. No earrings for boys; small hoops or studs for girls are appropriate.

One medium size chain only. Small purse must fit in backpack.

MAKE-UP: No make-up; no decorated (nail polish) or false nails; no tattoos.

HAIR: Natural color hair only (no dye); no designs in hair.

Boys’ hair must beno longer than collar length.

BACKPACKS

Must be clear or mesh only

Friday Apparel

Plain blue denim jeans, shorts, skirts, etc., Scarborough spirit shirts,

other club shirts, and appropriate college shirts can be worn on Friday only.

Friday clothing must have NO holes or decorations.

Students will be allowed to wear jeans on Friday ONLY if they have been in full uniform (including a belt) on Monday through Thursday.

Pantalones: Color azul marino o caqui de medida correcta. Los pantalones

tienen que estar acomodados en la cintura con su cinto, si tienen presillas. Los pantalones tienen que ser debajo de los tobillos pero arriba de los talones. No pueden ir arrollados hacia arriba o doblados.El cinto debe ser negro o marrón solamente. No se requiere cinto para Pre-K y Kindergarten. Sin embargo, recomendamos pantalones con cintura elastizada. Los pantalones

no deben tener adornos con aberturas ni decoraciones. No se permiten pantalones de gimnasia, rompeviento o de tela elastizada.

Faldas/Vestido de pechera (jumpers)/ Pantalones cortos/capris o faldas/pantalón:

Color azul marino o caqui, no más de 2 pulgadas arriba de las rodillas.

sandalias o zapatos sin talones, etc.) y con calcetines/calcetas. Los cordones pueden ser negros, marrones o blanco y deben estar amarrados todo el tiempo.

Sombreros/Gorras: No se permiten en el edificio

(excepto los uniformes de los “scouts” en situaciones especiales).

Alhajas: Mejor no usar. La escuela no toma

responsabilidad por cualquier pérdida de joyas. Los varones no pueden usar aros. Las niñas pueden usar aros pequeños o argollas pequeñas. Se permite solo UNA cadena de tamaño mediano. Carteras deben entrar dentro de las mochilas.

Maquillaje: No se permite maquillaje. Las uñas no deben estar

pintadas ni decoradas. No se permiten uñas postizas, ni tatuajes.

Cabello: de color natural (no teñido), no se permiten diseños en el corte de cabello. Para los varones no debe ser más largo que el cuello de la camiseta.

MOCHILAS

Deben ser transparentes o de red solamente

Uniforme de los viernes

Pantalones simples de mezclilla azul, shorts, faldas, etc., camisetas de espíritu de Scarborough, y otras camisetas de club pueden usarse solamente los viernes. El vestuario de los viernes NO debe tener aberturas ni decoraciones.

Nuevo para el 2009-10: los alumnos podrán usar jeans los viernes SOLAMENTE, pero si cumplieron con el uniforme (incluyendo el cinto) toda la semana de lunes a jueves.

COLD WEATHERUNIFORM REMINDERS

Thank you for your efforts in maintaining schoolwide uniform compliance for our students. The following concerns have been discussed and this handout serves as a reminder of appropriate dress as it relates to safety, classroom instruction, as well as appropriate social skills.

  • Shoe laces must be tied and velcro strapped.
  • Shoes with wheels on the bottom of the sole are absolutely prohibited. Also shoes or boots that are more than 1 ½ inches are not allowed.
  • Shirts must remain tucked in the entire school day without no midriff showing..
  • In cold weather red, white, or navy blue solid colored turtlenecks (no logos) as well as corduroy bottoms are acceptable.
  • Sweater and jackets are not to be worn around the waist.
  • Heavy weight jackets are to be worn to school and from school. Students may wear layered clothing such as a sweatshirt or sweater, white undershirt, or a long sleeve shirt or turtleneck
