Course Syllabus- Math Tutorial Lab

Course Description

Math Tutorial Lab is an elective Mathematics course provided to students in Algebra 1. The course is designed to enhance the students’ knowledge or prerequisite skills that are needed to access this grade level Mathematics course. Mathematics Tutorial Lab also provides students with extra time to develop a higher level understanding of key Algebra 1 standards needed for success in their Algebra 1 class. This is not a class where they will be doing their algebra homework.

Materials

Notebook(3 ring binder or spiral)

Paper (lined and graph)

Pencils(mechanical ok but must have lead)

Rules and Expectation

Along with school rules and policies that following will be enforced.

  1. Students are to be seated in their assigned seat when the bell rings. Any student not in their seat will be marked tardy.
  2. Students must come to class prepared.Students should have all supplies, homework etc. ready for class
  3. Students must respect the teacher and other students in class. Students will raise their hand and wait to be called on. Only one person may speak at a time.
  4. The teacher dismisses the class. When the bell rings students will wait until the teacher lets them leave.
  5. No electronics allowed. School policy states that any electronic device will be confiscated.
  6. No chewing gum, eating or drinks allowed.

Work Habits

E = Excellent: Your child has an A or B along with no unexcused tardies/absences

S = Satisfactory: Your child has a C or better and 3 or less unexcused tardies/absences

U = Unsatisfactory: Your child has an F or more than 3 unexcused tardies/absences

Cooperation

E = Excellent: Your child has excellent behavior and always follows the rules

S = Satisfactory: Your child has good behavior but has had to be reminded of the rules or expectations

U = Unsatisfactory: Your child has frequently not followed the rules/expectation of the class

Classwork

Classwork is to be completed and turned in by the end of class.

Test

Test will be given at the end of each chapter.

CST Quizzes

These quizzes will be given weekly based on questions similar to the Algebra 1 CST.

Midterm/Final

These are cumulative test that will be given in October and December.
