HORSESECTION–Regulations

1. INDEMNITYANDWAIVER FORMS:The Horse Committeewilltake all care in managingtheSection,butcompetitorstakingpartin thisHorse Section dosoattheirownrisk.Each adultcompetitormust, before competing,completeand sign a formindemnifyingthe PambulaShowSocietyandwaivinganyclaimsagainstthe Societyforanyinjurysustained in competition orforlossordamageto thecompetitor’s propertyordamagecaused by the competitororhis/heranimal(s) atthe Show.A similarformmustalso be completed and signed by a parentorguardian foreach competitorwho isunder18yearsofage. ALSO,on each Waiver,each horsewithwhich the competitorisinvolvedincompetition atthe Showmustbelistedtogetherwiththe PropertyIdentification Code (PIC)ofthe propertyfromwhichthe horse cameto the Show.

2. Refusal ofEntry/Alteration of Schedule:Thecommitteereserves theright to refusean entrywithoutassigning any reason fordoing soandtoalterthescheduleto meetemerging circumstances.

3. Judge’sDecision/Discretion:Thejudge isempoweredto withhold anyor all prizes in any classwheretheexhibits are, in his/heropinion,unworthyoftheprize,andatalltimesthe judge'sdecisionwillbefinal. A judgehasthe discretion toaskthata ledorperformanceexhibitand handler/riderbeorderedtoleavethering ifhe/sheconsidersthe animal is unrulyand/orlikelyto causeanaccident.

4. Novice Hack,Galloway,Pony, Rider: A Novicehasnotwona FirstPlace atanyShow.

5. ShowHunters: Horsesin theseclassesmaynotalsocompeteinRiddenHack,GallowayorPonyclasses.

6. RiddenHack,Galloway,Pony: Horses intheseclassesmaynotalsocompete in ShowHunterclasses.

7. Stallions: Stallionsmustbewearing abitat all timeswhenbeingled andmustbeunder thecontrolof aperson17yearsof ageorolder. They mustbesupervised at alltimesand securelyfastenedwhentied tothe outsideof atruckor float.They arenoteligibleto compete in riddenclasses unless theireligibility isspecificallystated in theschedule.

8. PonieswithAdultRiders:Poniesmayberiddenbyadultsunlessotherwisestated in theschedule.

9. Latenessto the Ring:Competitorsmustbereadywhencalled.Oncejudging hascommenced, acompeting horseshall notbeled orriddeninto oroutof thejudging ring without thepermission ofthe judgeand/orthe Ringmaster or ChiefSteward.

10. LeavingThe Ring:Ifa led horseshould dragor escapeits handleror a riddenhorsetakecontrol ofor unseat itsriderand leave the ring,it is usuallydisqualified fromthe class.

11. Horse Measuring: No officialmeasuring willtakeplace atthe show,but, if aquestion aboutheightarises,proofofheightmayberequired. In theabsenceof proof, a decisionwill beat theabsolutediscretionof the RingMasterorChiefSteward.

12. BreedRegistration: Registration documentsforhorses inbreedclassesmustbeproducedwhenrequired byaSteward.

13. Attire:Competitorsmustbeappropriatelyattiredforthecompetition inwhichthey arecompeting.

14. Helmets: Everyrider isencouragedto wear a safety helmetcompliantwith thecurrentAustralianStandard.Ridersunder18yearsmustwear such ahelmet.

15. Footwear: Allcompetitorsmustwearappropriatefootwearwhenleadingor riding a horse.When riding,the footwearmustenableremovalofthefootfromthestirrup.

16. Cruelty: Personswhoareconsidered bytheRingmasterorChiefStewardtobeabusive orcrueltoahorsewill beexpelledfromtheground.Nohorsewillbepermittedtocompeteif, in theopinionoftheRingmasterorChief Steward,it is in poorhealth orcondition.

17. Drugs: Drug testing maybecarriedoutat thisshow.

18. ApproachingJudges:Noexhibitoror associatewill initiateconversation with a judgeon judging day,before,during or afterjudging exceptthroughtheRingmasteror Chief Steward.

19. Coaching: Anyperson detected coaching acompetitorwhilethatcompetitorisbeing judgedmayberemovedfromtheShowground.

20. Proper Conduct: Anyexhibitororassociatewhobehavesoffensivelyon theShowgroundwill beexpelledfromtheground, maybe bannedfrom the showinfuture andmaybe banned byotherSocieties.

21. Protests:A protestor complaintagainstanyexhibitorexhibitormaybelodged verballywiththeRingmasterorChiefSteward nolater thantenminutesafterthe judging oftheexhibit orexhibitor.TheRingmasterorChief Steward mustbeprovidedwith theexactnatureof thecomplaintand act, ifnecessary,to maintaincompetitivefairness. TheRingmasterorChief Stewardmaychoosetoreferthematterto theProtestsCommittee, whichshallcomprise thePresident ofthe Society,ora VicePresidentand twoothermembersoftheGeneralCommittee. A protest orcomplaintor an appealagainstthedecision oftheRingmasteror ChiefStewardmaybelodged inwritingwith theSecretarynolaterthan5pmonthe day ofjudging.Suchprotest, complaint or appealshallbeaccompanied by a depositof$50whichshall beforfeited if theprotest,complaintor appealprovestobefrivolous orvexatious.A matterlodgedthiswayshall bedealtwithbytheProtestsCommitteewithin24hoursoflodgementand thedecisionof theProtestCommitteeshall befinal. NB: No protestorcomplaintwill beconsidered if itreferssimplytoajudge'sdecision.

22. Ring 2 of the Showjumping is intended for younger and older pony club riders and occasional or less experienced riders of any age. It is not to be used by more experienced riders as a training opportunity for younger or less experienced horses. If there is any doubt, entry to events in this ring will be refused.

Presentation to winner of Wheeler’s Restaurant Supreme Saddlehorse Challenge will be made after the last event of the day

• Entry Fee $10
• Entries close 12 NOON at ticket sellers office at showground
• Open to all horses and ponies
• To be judged by two independent judges
• Each entry is to perform a set workout and is scored for each manoeuvre performed as per score sheet
• Judges points tallied to obtain winner and places
• In the case of a tie, prize money will be split evenly
• Score sheets available at completion of event
• Placings to sixth
• Judges decision final
