PAKENHAM JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB NEWSLETTER: ROUND THREE

We have our first Friday night matches for the 2014 season this round. With the first game starting at 6.30pm, Under 12 Blue will play under lights followed by Under 14 Maroon at 8pm. The atmosphere at Friday night games is great, so hang around to watch these games after training and squeeze in under the heater by the Barbecue. No need to worry about cooking dinner either, as the canteen will be open with lots of hot food and warm drinks.

MOTHER’S DAY ROUND THIS SUNDAY

In last week’s newsletter we mentioned our plans for recognising the important female supporters in the lives of our players at our home ground games through fundraising and some fun footy matches. After looking at our draw for this week (we have only three home matches on Sunday) and talking to people around the club about what their plans are for Mother’s Day before and after their football match we have decided to postpone these plans for further into the season. Many people will be heading off straight after their matches to visit family and friends or to have a special Mother’s Day lunch and won’t be able to stay around afterwards. There will be a sausage sizzle on a later date to be advised to raise money for a cancer charity.

LOST PROPERTY

We already have a collection of clothing and other items that have been left on the ground or in change rooms. PLEASE NAME ITEMS CLEARLY. If items are named we can put them into your team pigeonhole in the office and get them back to their owners. Especially, name your footy shorts, socks, boots, and other PJFC merchandise items. We will be holding unnamed items for three weeks then will have to donate them to charity if unclaimed as we don’t have the room to store items long term.

REGISTRATION FEES AND $2 MATCH LEVY

Please come to the office to either pay fees in full or discuss payment arrangements. Fees are $170 per player with a discount for families. Each player is also required to pay $2 before their game each week. This is to cover the increasing costs of fielding teams and is paid to your team manager. You may pay week by week, or you can pay it as a lump sum or a few weeks in advance.

SPONSORS

Please take a look at the signs around the club that advertise businesses. The signs recognise our club sponsors. These businesses have all generously donated much needed money to our club so that fees can be subsidised and we can keep the club running.

When you are looking for a business for goods and services, please consider taking your enquiries to our club sponsors. If you use any of these businesses please tell them you are from Pakenham Junior Football Club.

If you know of someone, or are someone who would like to become a sponsor please contact Travis Hamilton via or through the club office.

MATCH REPORTS

Match Reports will be sent through to the Pakenham Gazette each week to be published in “Club Corner”. Last week we saw a few team reports in there and this week there will be a whole lot more to see, including a write up on matches and names of the Award winners for that week.

GOOD NEWS STORIES

It was great to hear a few coaches come back and tell us that after their matches on the weekend, opposition coaches have complimented them on how well our Pakenham teams have conducted themselves. We love these stories. Win or lose, it’s great to know that Pakenham is represented by great players and supporters who make such a good impression on opposition sides. Well done.
