The authors made a classification of the properties of flexible packaging materials, reviewed the physical properties of flexible packaging materials and basic methods for their determination. The article shows the influence of flatness and curls to work wrapping equipment. The authors reviewed the physical and mechanical properties of flexible packaging materials, among them the ability to hold the fold, the degree of conservation of the initial deformation and methods for their determination. The authors showed that the ability to save-twist and holding tangled state is prima facie assessment of the use of flexible packaging materials for products on packing wrapping machines.
Packaging for paints and varnishes

The author considers the situation on the Ukrainian market of paints and varnishes (P&V). The author noted trends in the market, showed that the packaging for the P&V on the Ukrainian market corresponds to the best samples of modern packaging for this product. The authors cite data on the structure of Ukrainian producers of various types of P&V. On the basis of data on production, imports and exports of P&V author has used the structure of the package to calculate the volume of consumer and transit package on the Ukrainian market and the quantity of packaging materials for its production.

The author cites data on two models of the development of modern society: models of economic development and a model of sustainable development. The author has shown that the choice of a model of sustainable development at the end of the last century was dictated by the desire to achieve balanced development of the planet's environment and economy. When evaluating the life cycle of any product, which is the basis for development in the second model, the package - one of the important factors. At the same time as the main trends in packaging the author considered its three major components: safety, environmental friendliness, comfort. Development of packaging to reflect these factors aimed at realizing the main goal - improving the quality of human life.
Kinetics of heating of cardboard

Based on the analysis of literary sources the mathematical model of process of heating of a cardboard is developed on the heater shaft of corrugator, which allows to expect time of heating, necessary for the calculation of sizes of shafts. Model adequacy is tested on the operating corrugator of Zhydachiv’s CPF.
Effect of porosity of packaging materials on holding force packages with vacuum clamping device

The authors developed a mathematical model of air permeability of porous packaging materials. The adequacy of mathematical models to real processes is tested by the authors of experimental studies.
The results obtained are recommended for use in performing the calculations and the choice of the elements of vacuum gripping device packaging equipment.
Oxo Bio degradable polymers

It is analyzed in this article the situation with the use of plastic packaging and its impact on the ecology of the environment in the absence of systems of waste packaging. The authors show ways to reduce such negative impacts: reduced weight of plastic packaging, use reusable packaging and its disposal and recycling.
It is shown importance of the understanding of terms such as biopolymers and biodegrade. It is had detailed information about the additive d2w ™, its composition, properties and actions, which on the one side, preserves the functional properties of polymer products, and on the other - from a defined time leads to the destruction of the polymer and biodegradable polymer products. The Authors have listed certain conditions which need to adhere to most effectively implement all the properties of additive d2w™.

It was showing results of measurement estimation of neutral gray tones by CMYK ink for different regimes of color separation processing. The influencing of the color separation regimes on tone rendering quality at print run of reproduction in flat offset printing is conducted and analysed.
