TYPE OF POSITION: On-campus, Graduate Assistantship in eLearning Support

SALARY: $8,500 for academic year/12 graduate credits of tuition waiver

DATE OF APPOINTMENT: (Graduate Assistants follow the same calendar as faculty)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Faculty and Staff Training & Support:

Provide individual and small group training on and support for:

·  Basic D2L Brightspace tools

·  Basic Instructional Design related to online/blended courses

·  Course development tools such as Respondus Quiz Generator

Assist in creating and/or updating:

·  Training materials

·  eLearning Support website

QUALIFICATIONS:

ü  Must be admitted to a master’s program at Bemidji State University

ü  Must maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0

ü  Must be able to work on-campus between 8am-4pm

ü  In order to drive on behalf of BSU, in an assigned university vehicle or a personal vehicle, the staff member must possess a valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license.

ü  The employee should demonstrate a knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations.

ü  Experience with a learning management system, like D2L Brightspace

ü  Excellent communication skills

ü  Excellent time/project management skills

ü  General computer knowledge and troubleshooting skills

ü  Knowledge of current technologies and an interest in and willingness to learn emerging technologies, particularly those related to education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

ü  Experience developing training materials or other educational materials

ü  Experience using mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets
