P.C.R. STAFF RECOVERED ARMS AND AMMUNITION

PCR Staff of Delhi Police in a swift and tactful handling have recovered Three Country made pistols, One loaded Italian Pistol and 101 live cartridges of different bores from a rented house in Pandav Nagar, Delhi.

On the intervening night of 14/15.8.2014, ASI Vijay Pal Singh, Constable Deepak and Constable (Dvr.) Devender were on duty in East Zone/PCR. A call was received at 4.17 AM from one Smt. Monika w/o Anwar Thakur that her husband had beaten her. The PCR Staff immediately reached the spot and found the door of the complainant bolted from outside. The PCR Staff opened the door and freed the complainant. She revealed that her husband Anwar Thakur is a convict and undergoing sentence in a murder case and is now out on parole since 5th May 2014. She further revealed that her husband was talking to someone suspiciously about some clandestine nefarious act on the occasion of Independence Day. Anwar beat-up his wife and ran away alongwith his two accomplishes. The PCR staff in a tactful manner, took her into confidence and recovered 03 Country Made Pistols, One Italian loaded Pistol with 5 live cartridges, one magazine, 20 live cartridges of 7.62 Bore, 53 live cartridges of 7.65 Bore, 12 live cartridges of 30.06 Bore SPRG, 5 live cartridges .32 Bore and 6 live cartridges of 12 Bore. The recovered arms and ammunition was handed over to local police. A case vide FIR No. 637/14 u/s 323/506 IPC & 25/54/59 Arms Act has been registered at P.S. Pandav Nagar and is under investigations.

Special Commissioner of Police, Operations, Delhi, Smt. Sundari Nanda has announced a reward of Rs. 10,000/- to each of the PCR official for prompt and tactful action, which has averted a potential subversive activity on the eve of Independence Day.

VIGILANCE BRANCH REGISTERED CASE OF CORRUPTION FOR TAKING BRIBE

With the launch of Vigilance Branch Helpline No. 9910641064 and 1064 on August 6, 2014, the Vigilance Branch has facilitated complainants having grievances related to corruption against police personnel to get prompt assistance from Vigilance Branch by sending in audio/video recording of the act on Whatsapp. On the mobile No. 9910641064, another Video clipping regarding demand and acceptance of bribe have been received and action under PoC Act 1988 has been initiated against the erring police personnel.

The complainant sent a video clipping at Vigilance Branch Helpline No. 9910641064 through Whatsapp regarding an incident of corruption by police staff. He stated that on 13.8.2014, he was stopped at the police checking point near Saket court as he was riding on a motorcycle alongwith his friend without helmet. The complainant was called to the vigilance branch, where he gave his statement to the effect that a constable in uniform had taken ₹ 100/- from him for not challaning for riding on Motorcycle without helmet. The entire act of demanding and accepting bribe was recorded on his mobile. On his complainant, a case vide FIR No.15 dtd 14.8.2014 u/s 7/13(1) (d) PoC Act has been registered at P.S.Vigilance and investigation is on.
