Letter from our President:

Ed Rowold

January, February and March highlight INDOOR athletics and LDR. Athletes (youth and adults) and officials were busy in these cold months. Youth, open s and Masters athletes followed an Indoor T&F series with an association championship in February. We will be including in this newsletter a schedule of events for all members of USATF; youth, open, masters and coaches and officials

As President of Ozark Association, I would like to offer our condolences to Ginger, Erin and David Mulanax for the loss of a loving husband and wonderful father as well as one of our most respected friend, mentor and official.

Officials

A new official's certification clinic will be held on Tuesday, April 12 6:30 p.m. at the Florissant Valley County Library, 195 S. New Florissant Rd Room 2. Cost is $35 per person or $55 is the person wishes to buy a 2011 USATF Rule book or NCAA Rule book ($65 if they want both). However, rule books will be available for use without purchasing during the clinic. Before coming to the clinic, the person must have purchased a 2011 USATF membership and have either the computer printout with number listed or the back card of the 3-part stickered card. Clinic will take 2 and 1/2 hours - 6:30 to 9:00. Any questions pleasecontactGinger Mulanax, Ozark Certification .

Please note that with recertification coming up for the next Olympiad, it is important to work at all levels of meets and all age groups. In addition to the summer youth series, there are open & masters meets as well as throws specific meets. Additionally, it is important to try to work meets outside of our own association, so there are meets available in the Missouri Valley Association. This year, the USATF Junior Olympics is being held in Wichita, Kansas; applications are on the USATF officials website. It is a great chance to work a national meet near to St. Louis and help your officiating resume at the same time!
