Dear Parents/Guardians,
Due to the safety of our students we will NO longer allow students to be picked up in the office at 3:15 unless student has an appointment. We will also need an excuse from the appointment for that day. Any student that is picked up at 3:15 or later will need to be picked up in the Red Tag rider lane. If you do not have a tag you may come in and fill one out in the front office. Reminder, morning drop offs are at the East side door. No parent drop offs in the front of the building until after 8:05 A.M. This will help to ensure the safety of our students being dismissed to their busses. Thank you for making student safety a top priority at Owingsville Elementary.

Happy Birthday

Dream Out Loud Challenge

The Dream Out loud Challenge is a creative contest that gives parents of Kentucky K-6 students a chance to win a $1,500 college savings account and $500 for their child’s school! The contest will run through March 20, 2015. Mailed entries must be postmarked by March 20th and received by March 25, 2015. Students submit an original drawing, video, essay or poem answering the question, “How will I change the world after I go to college?” More info is available from the counselor’s office and your student’s teacher.

In support of Random Acts of Kindness this February, Owingsville Elementary School will be having a “coin drive” February 23rd, 2015 to March 6th, 2015. All coins from this drive will be going to Build-A-Bed Project. The school goal is to collect $150.00 which will sponsor one bed for a child. Together we can make a difference in the lives of our children! Build-A-Bed targets children in Kentucky who are living in homes without beds. This project is designed to promote healthy bedtime rituals, improve the quality of sleep, and create happier days, brighter dreams and more opportunities for a lifetime success. Each recipient is given a twin sized bed and mattress, a set of sheets, a blanket or quilt, a hygiene kit, books, night-light or alarm clock, and stuffed animal. IF you want to give an item here are a list of items needed (items must be NEW): twin sized sheets sets, pillows, twin sized comforters, quilts or afghans, books, nightlights, alarm clocks, stuffed animals, hygiene kit supplies (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc.)
