KIRKBYMOORSIDE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

7th September 2017

Through learning, teaching and caring we achieve together.

WELCOME BACK

The new term has got off to a GREAT start; the children have all come back to school in such GOOD spirits and with GREAT attitudes. We are all set to have another amazing year. We have welcomed a few new children into Key Stage Two and are expecting our new Nursery starters next week. Two new members of staff have joined the team; Mrs

McWilliams will be working with the Enhanced Provision staff and Mrs Shaw is working with our Key Stage One and Early Years team.

School may not have had children in it for the last six weeks but there has been a lot of activity, painting, carpeting, new blinds, etc. Key Stage Two library has had the second phase of its ‘revamp’ completed. We have had new playground furniture (THANK YOU Parents Committee).

We have sent home a couple of additional letters today about medication in school and attendance. We would appreciate it if you could read these and respond to the medication letter.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

We are currently looking for new cleaners and a caretaker. If you are interested in either of these posts, further details can be found on North Yorkshire County Council website. Also, Ryedale School are looking for Examination Invigilators. If you are interested, contact Stephanie French on 01437 771665 or .

BAGS 2 SCHOOL

You should all receive a collection bag for Bags 2 School tonight. We would be very grateful if you could manage to fill it with unwanted clothing and bring it into school on Thursday 28th September or Friday 29th September. The bags will be collected at 9.00 a.m. prompt on Friday 28th so we will be unable to accept bags after this time.

This is a fundraising event which will raise funds for school. If you are able to fill more than 1 bag, please call in at the school office as we have lots more available. Thank you.

LOST PROPERTY

School still has a ‘mountain’ of jumpers, coats and cardigans that were left at the end of last year. If you would like to come and see if any of it belongs to you, there is a very large bin at the back of the school hall. Please feel free to pop in at the beginning or end of the day to look.

Whilst still on the subject of lost property, we do still have 5 cake stands in school that were left from the summer fair that have not been claimed, and a pair of sun glasses found on the day. (It is not just our children who lose things!!)

PHOTOGRAPHS

Richard from Impressions will be in school on Wednesday 4th October to take individual and sibling photographs. If you would like a photograph that involves a child that is not at this school, Richard will be taking theses from 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. Just turn up.
