Dear Parent/Guardian

As you will be aware, students in Year 10 have to stay in education, training or employment with training until the age of 18. To help them decide what they may want to do post 16 years, Worcester 6th Form College have arranged a ‘Taster Day’ on Thursday 2ndJuly, so that potential applicants can get a feel for the different course and opportunities available to them. In receiving this letter your child has shown an interest in going to this day and has registered with the college to book the sessions they would like to attend. The format for the day is as follows:

9.30am – Students arrive at Main Reception

9.15 – Short presentation introducing the day, what to expect etc.

10am-12.15pm – Session one with a break at 11.00am

12.15-12.50pm – Lunch (They will need to bring either a packed lunch or money to buy lunch in the College cafeteria. If students are not present in afternoon sessions they will contact the academy so parents can be notified)

12.50-2.50pm – Session two.

2.50pm – End of day. Students are free to make their own way home or back to school.

To facilitate the purpose of the day it has been agreed that year 10 Tudor Grange Academy students who have registered a booking with the college and have returned a signed parental consent slip,as attached, may be permitted time away from the academy to attend.

Key arrangements on the day

  • Students will be expected to make their own way to and from Worcester 6th Form College
  • Staff from Tudor Grange Academy Worcester will not be attending the day.
  • Students are not required to wear their school uniform but must dress appropriately for their workshops.
  • Students will be required to register in at the start of each workshop.
  • Students will be allowed off site. However it will be made clear in the welcome presentation that any students who does not attend the second workshop will be marked as absent and staff at Tudor Grange Academy will be informed. Consequently, such students will be reported officially as truanting, and parents/guardians will be informed.

If you have any questions about the day, please do not hesitate to contact me at the academy.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Sarah Kenwright
