BIG SIR RANDY BULLOCK 872-2837
Greetings from your Big Sir! Well, Spring is here and the freeze threat is over for the current time. I am pleased to report that soon we will have a contract with the Elk's lodge for the next 2 years. I feel that we have accomplished a great task. As you may have noticed , the food is better! We have worked very hard to get better meals for you. We are still working on serve time and other delivery issues. We were short one server employee due to sickness at our March meeting causing noticeable delays. We are sorry about that. Please check the website for all 2014 meeting including Picnic and Christmas Party dates. We hope that you like the change implemented regarding our Raffle. We continue to move forward on delinquent members as to our lunch loss issues. Look at you Bulletin for names of those who are behind and encourage them to catch up and enjoy our Branch. You will soon hear more about our BBQ. We are going to improve the menu and work to make this a great event! As in years past, members of Branch 135 & 82 are invited to this event and competitive horse shoe tournament will take place. I am still looking for members to step up and volunteer to assist our leadership corps of officers. Looking forward to seeing you in April. Randy Bullock

LITTLE SIR MIKE JOHNSON 877-7375
For April we'll do something a bit different from what I've experienced as a SIR member. Instead of a guest speaker we will host a local musician, Dorothy Clark who wasrecommended by one of our Branch 52 members. From the research I've conducted we should have a treat in store for all of us. Dorothy has performed for and entertained a wide variety of audiences in the Butte County region as well as other West Coast locals. Her music is best described by these genres: Jazz, Oldies, Blues, Country, Folk, POP, Ballads, 40's, 50's and Originals. If you attended the ELKS HOBO Night on March 15th, you will have heard Dorothy and her sound person entertain the ELKS with a wide variety of songs that evening. It's a challenge finding speakers for our luncheons, even harder to find an entertainer who can find the time in their busy schedules for any group and to do so gratis.
Christmas Party Chairman update: The Christmas Party date has been set as December 12th, the 2nd Saturday for the month. Location: ELKS Lodge 2026. Country Tradition has agreed to provide our music again this year and they said they would hold their costs to last year's expenses. From my research everyone I've spoken to enjoyed the entertainment they have provided in the past. All we need to wrap up a contract with them is the approval from the BEC for the funds, which I expect to see happen at our next BEC meeting. Our Big SIR and myself are finalizing a contract with the ELKS on the menu and the pricing. We both expect to have the contract in place and base prices locked down by next month, if not sooner.
