Homework
To be handed in on Friday 23rd September
Our live webcast for Roald Dahl’s birthday worked well last week. We found out lots of interesting facts about the author and drew along with Quentin Blake. We also made our own Frobscottle which went down well in class! I hope that you didn’t have the same after effects as the real drink!
The bingo night was well attended last week and it was great to see so many people winning, although I can’t count myself as one of them! Thank you for the support.
We found out a little bit about Italy last week and made fresh pasta from scratch. This seemed to be a popular recipe. Jack has suggested that we make a little recipe book with the recipes from different countries and the Frobscottle recipes made by each group. Good idea Jack!

Glow– We have started looking at profiling through Glow. This is still new and we are feeling our way at the moment but I would like you to try and add a piece at home in your “Wider Achievements” section. You can add a photo of something that you have achieved in one of your out of school activities or in something you gained in school, pupil of the week, a certificate from Mr Cordiner or a badge challenge for example. Please write a piece beside your image or if you don’t have a picture then a written piece will be fine to start with.
Please also try to reply to Mr Cordiner’s post if you haven’t done so already
Mr Cordiner has started taking a couple of children from each class to discuss their learning. These are small “Learning Conversation” groups where the children and Mr Cordiner share what they have been doing in class with each other. These will continue throughout the year. I know that Mr Cordiner was impressed with some of the feedback he received from the first session and is looking forward to hearing more.
Next week is Health Week. As part of the work we will be covering, the school will be holding another technology challenge. Mrs Keith spoke about this challenge at assembly on Friday and told you that you are being asked to design a piece of playground equipment that moves. It also needs to be big enough for one of our teddies to sit on. Please start taking in larger pieces of cardboard and other resources you think you might need to help your group next week
