OUR LADY OF REFUGE-FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER APRIL22ND, 2018

FIRST READING

Acts 4:8-12

There is no salvation through anyone else.

SECOND READING

1 John 3:1-2

We are God’s children now.

GOSPEL READING

John 10:11-18

The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

**********************************

In the first reading, we hear Peter preaching about Jesus again. He uses the line from Psalm 118 – “The stone rejected by the builders has become the cornerstone” – to describe Jesus. This becomes the refrain for the psalm. We then hear from John in the second reading and the Gospel, comforting us with the image of Jesus as the Good Shepherd and us as the children of God. Let us consider the richness of these images as we listen to them today.
