The JW MarroittParq Vancouver located at 39 Smithe Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 1C1is currently hiring a Project Specialist (1 year contract).
Responsibilities include: The Project Specialist is a one year contract rolethat will be working with the General Contractor, the Development team and the operations team.This is asupportposition forthe department operations as part of the organization'sengineeringadministrative team.

The Project Specialist is responsiblefor maintaining the deficiency punch list for all guestrooms, restaurants, bars, public spaces, meeting spaces and casino. They will coordinate the punch schedule, create a deficiency report form, assign responsibility for the deficiencies, regularly provide updates on progress and completion of deficiencies and complete the final sign-off on behalf of the Operating Manager.

This position will monitor the post completion project list that has been identified and assign timelines for completion and monitor progress until completion.

This position will manage the warranty programs of the operating equipment as well as pre construction assigned contracts. Before year end they will evaluate all contracts and initiate RFP’s for contracts required.

Success in this position is accomplished through an understanding ofproject management, managing partners, timelines and schedules,business operationsexperience, existing training programs and Marriott's protocol. In addition, the Project Specialist must have the skills to effectively manage multiple projects at the same time, meet deadlines and exhibit strong communication skills.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; read and visually verify information in a variety of formats. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of employees. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
