Terms and Conditions
1) Booking.
Bookings are only accepted on return of the completed booking form and a £50 deposit must accompany the booking form unless otherwise agreed. The deposit will be refunded in full if the booking cannot be confirmed by Orkan Adventures.
When bookings are accepted the deposit is thereafter non-refundable. Orkan Adventures reserves the right to make exceptions to the above where instances dictate.
2) Payment,
Where terms have been agreed any sums not paid by the customer by the due date shall bear interest of three percent per annum above the National Westminster Bank Plc base lending rate per annum or part thereof from the due date to the date when payment received.
The time of payment shall be the essence of the contract.
3) Cancellation.
The customer may cancel their booking up to1 day before the date of the activity with no charges levelled. All cancellations on the booked date will incur the loss of the deposit. . All cancellations must be notified in writing and signed by the person who originally made the booking; they are accepted as being notified of the date received by Orkan Adventures.
Any cancellation received on the day of the event may incur additional charges over the value of the deposit if any additional costs have been incurred by Orkan Adventures. The additional charges if levied will not exceed 50% of the full cost of the activities booked.
Orkan Adventures reserves the right to cancel any activity on the day of the event if weather conditions put the participants into danger. The Company's decision is final. Alternate activities may be offered where possible or a refund given.
4) Participating Numbers. (Group bookings)
The customer will supply Orkan Adventures with fixed numbers of participants no later than1 day before the date of the event. Any reduction after that date will incur a cost to the customer that will cover the operating costs of Orkan Adventures for that session.
Where a customer on the day fails to attend or is late for his session due to no fault of Orkan Adventures the customer will have no recourse for any refunds.
Any increase in participating numbers will only be accepted by agreement and will be at an additional basic per person cost.
5) Equipment and Clothing.
Orkan Adventures will provide all equipment required to participate in the chosen activities including overalls and safety equipment. Orkan Adventures will not supply footwear or gloves to its customers.
Orkan Adventures does not take responsibility for providing suitable clothing to participate in its activities and takes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal effects or clothing.
Any equipment damaged by a participant in circumstances where instruction has not been followed will be charged to the person responsible.
6) Instruction and Insurance.
Orkan Adventures will provide all instruction, and insurance for those persons participating in activities. Orkan Adventures reserves the right to decline individual participants on the day of the activities if they are not in a fit condition to undertake the activities chosen.
All participants must be made aware by the person booking that outdoor activities carry an element of risk. Orkan Adventures have tried to minimise the risks involved to participants but participants will only be accepted on the understanding that they are aware of these risks and wish to participate of their own free will.
