MISSION STATEMENT:

Therapetics, Service Dogs of Oklahoma – Together we empower Oklahomans with physical disabilities one service dog at a time.

KEY PROGRAMS:

Therapetics is a 501c3 non-profit organization that breeds, trains and places service dogs to assist Oklahomans with physical disabilities. Many of the clients served by Therapetics are those with: spinal cord injuries; amputations; Cerebral Palsy; Muscular Dystrophy; and Multiple Sclerosis. The goal of Therapetics is to provide clients with support needed to be able to work, attend school and achieve greater independence with the assistance of a service dog. Dogs trained by Therapetics can open and close doors, pull a wheelchair, provide balance, turn on and off lights, retrieve dropped items and go get help. It can take up to 2 years and more than $15,000 to train one of these extraordinary dogs for partnership. Because of generous donors, we are able to provide these dogs to clients free of charge.
