If you are unable to attend the event or just wish to put out an extra effort to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities, Little Bits would like to invite you to collect pledges in support of the Bunnock™ Tournament.
For many children with disabilities, horseback riding is one of the only activities in which they can participate. They can’t play baseball or soccer or hockey. They can’t take ballet, tap or jazz. Horseback riding is something they can do and excel at. They can feel good about themselves, build self-esteem, tone muscles they might not normally use, develop friendships and gain acceptance.
Through all of our efforts we can offer the opportunity to give birth to a wonderful and lasting relationship between a child and a horse. Almost two-thirds of the actual cost of riding is subsidized by Little Bits fundraising efforts like this one. We are fortunate to have almost 400 dedicated volunteers. We must generate almost a quarter of a million dollars each year in order to provide our program for our riders.
Currently, we have a two-year waiting list for our program. It is our goal to expand our program so that these individuals can also benefit from our therapeutic riding program. By collecting pledges in support of this event you can play a big part in accomplishing this goal.
Remember to ask friends, family and work acquaintances to make a pledge. With just 10 people collecting 10 pledges at $10.00 each, that would be another $1000.00 for Little Bits Therapeutic Riding Association. Challenge your friends; family and co-works to a competition on who can collect the most pledges and this $1000.00 can multiply even more. You could even approach your employer and ask if they will match your total pledges dollar for dollar.
Don't forget to remind your sponsors that donations over $10 are tax deductible. All individual pledges of $10 or more will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
$400 Total Pledges Collected per team ($100 per person or 10 pledges of $10 each)
Will get you free registration to the Bunnock™ Tournament. (If you pre-register you must pay your $50 pre-registration fee and turn in a minimum of $400 in pledges on the day of the event, your pre-registration fee will be refunded.)
$800 Total Pledges Collected per team ($200 per person or 10 pledges of $20 each)
Will get you free registration to the Bunnock™ Tournament and a prize package. (If you pre-register you must pay your $50 pre-registration fee and turn in a minimum of $800 in pledges on the day of the event, your pre-registration fee will be refunded.)
The participant with the largest $ amount of Pledge donations collected and turned in by the event (June 15, 2008) will receive a prize package.
Winners of the Bunnock™ Tournament
The first, second and third place teams in the Bunnock Tournament will each receive prizes.
