World History 122A

Optional Museum Visit Assignment- Due Friday, December 8, 2017

Every now and then, an exhibit comes to one of Atlanta’s museums that fits in with the curriculum of our World History class. Starting at the end of September, the Fernbank Museum has an exhibition that focuses on the Gladiator during Ancient Rome. This exhibit walks you through the life of a gladiator and how they were meant to entertain thousands of people, sometimes to the death.

If you are interested in a daily grade and a quiz grade, here is what you will need to do:

  1. Go to the Fernbank Museum to see the Gladiators exhibit- bring back a ticket stub or receipt
  2. Take a picture of yourself in front of the exhibit or actually in the exhibit- you must turn in a picture to receive full credit.
  3. Complete the scavenger hunt activity that corresponds with the exhibit.
  4. Write a paragraph explaining overall impressions, observations, criticisms, and/or general feelings about the exhibit. This should be typed-double spaced.
  5. Turn in ALL items by December 8, 2017.

Please remember that this is an OPTIONAL assignment and you will NOT be penalized if you don’t do it. Be sure to check the Fernbank website for hours of operation especially during the holidays. If you have any further questions, please talk to your World History teacher.
