  1. RULES
  2. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
  3. Coaching around the course will be allowed for this regatta
  1. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
  2. The regatta is open to all boats of the Optimist Class including Poly Optimists
  3. All boats intending to race are required to complete the 2017 Green/Intermediate Enrolment Form
  4. Half-Seasons Entry costs $100.00 for all eligible entrants
  1. SCHEDULE
  2. Racing will be conducted every Saturday morning until the Sailing Season finishes (end of April)
  3. Up to three (3) races back to back may be sailed
  4. Racing will commence at 0900 hours each day of racing
  1. CLASS FLAG

The class flag will be a white flag with a black Optimist insignia

All marks will be flags on marks

  1. THE START
  2. The starting line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the race committee vessel at the starboard mark and the port end starting mark.
  3. Attachment 2 details the starting sequence
  1. THE FINISH

The finishing line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the race committee vessel at the starboard end and the port end finishing mark

  1. SAFETY REGULATIONS

All skippers are required to SIGN ON before leaving the shore and to SIGN OFF when they return. The SIGN ON and SIGN OFF sheets are available outside the RQYS Sailing Academy Office.

  1. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILTY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
