JOB PROFILE

JOB TITLE:Planner / REPORTS TO:Head of Planning

LOCATION: Uddingston / DATE:May 2017
Purpose of Role
To efficiently plan all processes and functions through the Uddingston site. Manage and maintain all systems and planning processes as required. Calculate and order as required all top level raw materials. Control and campaign all required product lines providing an effective and efficient planning function across all departments at the Uddingston site.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  1. Operate in line with business goals, objectives, technical parameters and safety policy.
  2. Plan and schedule production lines and work stations as required.
  3. Plan and schedule all raw material requirements.
  4. Liaise closely with all production managers, identify all threats to the plan and help devise solutions.
  5. Ensure planned production achieves the most cost effective utilisation of time, labour, materials and packaging. Review and challenge production schedules to ensure best practice.
  6. Effective and timely communication of promotions and product changes to the production team.
  7. Balance, control and management of all inventory (finished goods/raw/WIP)
  8. Maintain and update all data as required in Planning files and schedules.
  9. Identify and progress any cost saving opportunities.
  10. Maintain customer service levels both internal and external to a minimum 99.5% (target 100%).
  11. Disseminate data and information as required, updating all our internal customers and sister sites as required.
  12. Embrace and work to all “Lean” principles and objectives.
  13. To facilitate the day-to-day running of all Planning activities.
  14. Attend meetings as required, taking accurate notes and relaying relevant information back to Planning team.
  15. Stand in for other members of the Planning team as and when required.
  16. To be prepared to conduct internal audits within the scope provided by the company and to take part in and support customer site audits as and when requested to do so by the technical team.

  • Strong experience of raw material, production planning and campaigning.
  • Advanced MS Excel user as a minimum.
  • FMCG, chilled/short life/high care food production planning experience would be advantageous.
