Open on a Title page. The word writes on screen: Dumped
Open on Lauren hanging out with a group of her girlfriends. She’s clearly upset and they’re all sympathising with her.
JESS:I can’t believe it – I thought you and Nick were, like, forever.
LAUREN:Yeah, I thought so too. But he clearly had other ideas.
EMMA:And he dumped you by txt? What a prick!
JESS:(tsk) Yeah.
So what are you going to do?
LAUREN:I don’t know.
We cut to close-up of Lauren looking hurt and confused.
At this point the action freezes and three options appear.
SUPERS:
a) keep calling him
b) get revenge
c) just let it go
We hear Lauren speaking as voice-over:
LAUREN:Where do you draw the line? Do you…
a) keep calling him – he’ll change his mind eventually
b) get revenge – spread a few rumours online, or…
c) just let it go – get over it and move on
IF YOU CHOOSE (A)…
Another day. We see Nick with his mates. His phone rings. He sees that it’s Lauren and doesn’t answer it.
NICK:(mocking) I don’t believe it. She’s still calling me.
His mates laugh.
RYAN:She just doesn’t get it, does she?
MATT:(dismissive) Tell her to piss off.
NICK:(smirks) Yeah I know, it’s tragic.
The words: “that’s gotta hurt” appear on screen and there’s a sound effect that signals it’s maybe not the best choice. The viewer is taken back to the menu.
IF YOU CHOOSE (B)…
Another day. Lauren is sitting at the computer, typing something. She sits back and laughs vindictively.
LAUREN AS V/O:Let’s see you explain this to your mates.
Then we see her approaching a group of her friends – both guys and girls. She tries to start a conversation.
LAUREN:Hey guys! What’s up?
They turn their backs on her and we hear one of them mutter:
RANDOM GUY:(with disdain) Bitch.
One of the girls turns and says:
RANDOM GIRL:That was really low, Lauren.
LAUREN:(defensive) It’s not like you wouldn’t have done the same thing.
She turns and walks away, looking mortified.
The words: “ouch” appear on screen and there’s a sound effect that signals it’s maybe not the best choice. The viewer is taken back to the menu.
IF YOU CHOOSE (C)
Another day, Lauren’s bedroom. She and her girlfriends are getting ready for a night out. They’re all happy and laughing.
LAUREN:Tonight is going to be awesome!!
EMMA:I know! I can’t wait!!!
JESS:We’re going to have the best time!!
LAUREN:Who needs boys anyway!
They all laugh happily.
The words: “woo-hoo!!” appear on screen and there’s a sound effect that signals positive reinforcement. The viewer is taken back to the menu.
