ASB ELECTIONS:

  1. Election Requirements:
  2. 2.5 cumulative, unweighted high school GPA
  3. Appropriate discipline and attendance records
  4. Completed appliction turned in ON, or BEFORE, the deadline. No late applications accepted whatsoever.
  5. Meet with Mr. Campuzano prior to elections.
  6. Election Posters:
  7. All election materials MUST be approved by the Activities Director before any copies or distribution has occurred.
  8. Candidates may hang posters, sheets, etc. You will be permitted to make no more than ten (10) of these posters.There is no limit on flyers.
  9. Campaign Finance:
  10. Each candidate may spend up to but not exceed $100 on any and all election materials. Donated election materials will be counted at retail value.
  11. Original receipts will be collected at the conclusion of campaign week for each person who has campaigned for an elected position.

IF APPOINTED OR ELECTED TO ASB 2014-2015, YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THESE SUMMER DATES & ACTIVITIES:

  1. ASB team building & ASB Portables clean-out: A few days in June and/or July, 2012
  2. ASB President & ASB Vice President will organize and host team-building activities for ALL ASB members throughout the summer.
  3. ASB CAMP @ UC, Santa Barbara: This is the ULTIMATE team-building experience (estimated cost: $350).
  4. Leave EDHS – Tuesday August 5, 2014 at 11:00am
  5. Return to EDHS – Friday August 8, 2014 around 3:30pm (depending on traffic)
  6. Work at El DoradoHigh School“BACK TO SCHOOL DAYS” (REGISTRATION):
  7. Tuesday August 19 – Friday August 22: 7am – 1:00pm
  8. Each ASB student will have to work the 4 shifts.

YOUR YEAR ON ASB: Regardless as to whether you are elected or appointed to ASB 2014-2015, you must be able to maintain acceptable academic and attendance levels throughout the school year. ASB will help to enhance your life, but cannot detract from your accomplishments. There will be times when outside work is required, and the ASB team will work to effectively accomplish all of their tasks TOGETHER.

  • ELECTION POSTERS/FLYERS MAY GO UP AS EARLY AS 7:00 AM MONDAY, APRIL 22.
  • YOU MUST REMOVE ALL MATERIALS BY THE ENDOF THE DAY ON THURSDAY, MAY 1.
  • CANDIDATES WILL RECORD THEIR SPEECH FOR HAWK TALK APRIL 28-APRIL 30 (mon/tue/wed).
  • ELECTION VIDEO WILL AIR ON THURSDAY, MAY 1.
  • RESULTS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE BY FRIDAY, MAY 2 AT 2:45PM.

CAMPAIGN TIMES (EACH DAY):

  • Before school, break, lunch & after school
  • Be respectful of classroom time and noise on campus  do not be disruptive!
  • All campaign material (printed or spoken) must be POSITIVE in nature, tone and presentation.
  • No Stickers
  • No social media campaigning, this includes but is not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You may lose your candidacy if you’re found using these as a campaign tool.
