Online shopping pioneer to speak at Mainstreet Australia Conference

“Failing to present a sense of their brand ethos, who they are, a sense of occasion, or being a part of something is where some online businesses can go wrong,” says Megan Quinn, a keynote speaker at the upcoming National Mainstreet Australia Conference.

“It’s essential to ensure a sense of community is carefully nurtured with every customer contact, whether online or in-person,” she said.

Megan brings her expertise pioneering online shopping to her keynote speech ‘Customer relationships in the Digital Age’ at the National Mainstreet Australia Conference being held at Federation Square in Melbourne on May 12 to 15 2013. This year’s conference theme is new challenges, new opportunities, new values.

She has spent the last 25 years specialising in the luxury end of retailing, advertising, publishing and design for the fashion, jewellery, hotel and airline industries for clients including QANTAS and Harrods.

Megan was the co-founder of internationally acclaimed Net-A-Porter and is now the Managing Director of her own brainchild, Q&CO Front-End Audit, which assesses how effectively companies are connecting with their customers and clients, allowing them to quickly get up to speed on ways to overhaul their customer relationships.

The biannual conference will be attended by business and trader associations; local government officers from key areas including economic development, community development, strategic planning, place making and tourism; and marketing coordinators and those who work in special rate programs.

Mainstreet Australia is a membership-based association that exists to support the economic, social and environmental benefits of main streets, town centres and community activity centres. The association identifies the important role that main streets play in the fabric of our communities and make our cities, towns and suburbs great places to live, work and play. Strong community relationships, local employment, small business opportunities, events and activities are just some of the benefits of a successful and vibrant main street precinct.
