Ephesians 2:11-19

Oneness and Peace in Christ

(Life Recovery Bible, pages 1511-1512)

  1. Pray and ask God to reveal truth to you through His Word by His Spirit.
  1. Read Ephesians 2:11-19.
  1. Complete the following verses as you SLOWLY and prayerfully re-read the verses and allow God to reveal treasures from His word just for you!

2:11Don’t______that you Gentiles used to be ______by birth. You were called “the uncircumcised ones” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their ______and not their ______.

2:12In those days you were living apart from ______. You were excluded from God’s people, Israel, and you did not know the ______God had made to them. You lived in this world without ______and without ______.

Recall a time when you were without God and without hope and then praise and

thank God for your salvation and the hope you have in Christ!

2:13But now you ______to Christ Jesus. Though you once were ______from God, now you have been ______to him because of the ______of Christ.

2:14For ______himself has made ______between us Jews and you Gentiles by making us all one people. He has broken down the ______of hostility that used to separate us.

Thank God that you now belong to Christ and that He has broken down that wall

of hostility between you and God.

2:15By his ______he ended the whole system of Jewish law that excluded the Gentiles. His ______was to make ______between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one ______from the two groups.

2:16______as one body, ______both groups to God by means of his ______and our hostility towards each other was put to death.

Thank God that He was willing to pay the price by dying so that we could live!

2:17He has brought his ______of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from him, and to us Jews who were near.

2:18Now, ______, both Jews and Gentiles, may come to the Father through the same ______because of what Christ has done for us.

2:19So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are ______along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of ______.

This is indeed Good News! As members of God’s family, we are all sisters in Christ!

  1. Read the footnote on page 1512 regarding verses 14-19.

In Christ we have peace with ______and with ______.

Do you realize that God can give you the power to live at peace with others? Does this

give you new hope? His power will enable you to make amends to every person you

have ever wronged! THAT”S POWER!!!

God offers us the same power (through His Holy Spirit) that He used to raise Jesus from

the dead!

When you ask Jesus to live in your heart, He brings with Him this power by way of the

Holy Spirit and as we empty ourselves and give Him our whole hearts, he will work

miracles through us.

Pray for a passion to know and love God more and be open to His guidance and for

Him to show you what needs to change in you. There is no longer any dividing wall

between you and God because of what Jesus did for you. Draw near to God and he will

draw near to you!

  1. Close your study time in prayer. You might want to pray the following prayer:

Precious Lord Jesus,

Thank you for dying for my sins and opening the door so that I can have a relationship with You! Thank You that I belong to Your family and that I can know and love You in a very personal and intimate way. I no longer am an outsider looking in ~ I really am part of Your family!!! Teach me to be kind and loving to those who surround me by Your Spirit and show me how to live a life that is pleasing to You! Please give me a passion to know and love You more! Nothing is too difficult for You—even me! Please change me to be more like You!

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
