Follow the project requirements in each of the squares below. You can arrange each required element however you choose on your paper. Use unlined paper and complete in ink.Put your name on the back.

A visual image, symbol, orrepresentation of an idea/concept thatis especially important to you fromthe reading. Use color to further yoursymbolic meanings; markers, crayons,colored pencils are all good choices,or you may find photographs,magazine clippings, or other sourcesthat will increase the visual impactof your work.
Remember – color is required! / Write TWO direct quotes from the text,selected for whatever purpose you like.They may show important ideas, ideasthat you question, or issues that have aclear relationship. Be sure to use quotationmarks and indicate from where you took thequote (page number in parentheses). Thenexplain the significance of each quote.
Write a theme statement for the book. What topic(s) does the novel explore, and what does the author seem to be saying about that topic. You may include more than one theme statement, if you see more than one theme emerge from the story. / Two connections: Write two statements which link parts of the reading to either your own experiences, events from other books you have read, or events in the world (current or historical).
