General Facts
The OCCC is funded by Orange County tourist development tax (resort tax) collections and operating revenues.
OrangeCountyConvention Center’s Phase V Project is the largest public project in OrangeCounty history.
In 1983, the Center hosted 129 events with 342,982 attendees whose spending contributed to an annual economic impact of $26.2 million. In Calendar year 2010, the OCCC hosted 199 events with approximately 1.2 million attendees. The spending of these attendees contributes to the annual economic impact of $1.7 billion the Orange County Convention Center has on the local community.
As of December 2010, there are 749 events with an estimated 11 million attendees booked through the year 2029. This will generate approximately $22 billion in delegate spending during this time frame.
Activity at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) supports over 1,000 local businesses and creates more than 26,000 local jobs.
