One little Star…Can make a difference in the dark sky!

September 12, 2017

Dear Parents,

Welcome Back to a great school year! I am looking forward to an awesome and exciting school year 2017-2018. I look forward to once again continuing to build upon the successes of last year. I am confident that our students will continue to excel. I can assure you that our teachers and staff are totally committed to helping children. I am very proud of our staff and all the wonderful things that they do to help all of our children.

Academically our JPHES students did an awesome job. On the STAAR state exam our school earned 5 distinction stars out of a total ofsix. J.P. Henderson isalso one of several schools that was honored with the Title I Blue Ribbon School recognition. Our school also received the Gold Certified accolade for being a family friendly school. Needless, to say we are Falcon Proud! These successes are a result of your support. and your commitment to excellence. You are the Best!

Even though we celebrate our successes we are cognizant that we still have a lot of work to do. If, there is one child that still needs help, that is a clear sign that we still have work to do. Our wonderful JPHES staff is committed to working hard. We love all of our children and are passionate about making a positive difference in every child’s life.

Please be reminded that our top priority is student safety. In the interest of student safety, we ask that you drop off and pick up your child/ren at the designated areas only. The arrival for students having breakfast is 7:30a.m. and for non-breakfast students that time arrival is 8:00a.m. The children will continue to have breakfast served in their classrooms. Instruction starts at 8:00a.m. and the instructional day ends at 3:00p.m. Our PK, K, first and second grades are dismissed at 2:50p.m. to help minimize the traffic congestion around our school. The third, fourth and fifth grades are dismissed at 3:00p.m.

You will find a lot of important information in the Falcon school notebook that I am sending home today. Please read the information closely and complete all of the necessary forms. It is important that you send the emergency student information form back to the school along with the beautiful Falcon notebook. You will be receiving school parent communication in this beautiful folder throughout the school year.

Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. Those of you that know me well, know that I have an open door policy, so please feel free to come by and visit with me any time.

Thanks for being part of our great JPHES family!

Sincerely,

Ms. Maria E. Barrientos, Principal
