A Thinking Sound

Sometimes I take a thought
and chew on it too long
At first it’s hard to break the shape-
the way it’s formed is wrong
Chomp! Chomp!
Break it down
Smack! Smack!
A thinking sound
With enough manipulation
I’ll smooth out the frustration

I’ll spread it thin
and take it in
Crack!
Take it back
and begin again
Then I’ll take that thought
and blow it out to see
what happens when subjected
to vulnerability
Pop!
and it deflates

What I think is on my face
Put it back without the taste
It moves apart like runny paste
And now it’s clear what’s wrong

I’ve chewed the thought for far too long
Spit!
There it goes
Splat!
It hits the ground
Unwrap a brand new piece
Smack! Smack!
A thinking sound

How I feel about English

The truth is that I didn’t always like English. In fact, it was not my favorite subject until I reached college. I had a wonderful teacher who showed me what I had been missing and I only wish that I had discovered it sooner.

Something Most People Don’t Know About Me

I am currently writing a young adult novel. I became inspired by a single idea while on vacation last May and I have been writing bits and pieces ever since. Publication would be wonderful, but I am honestly just having a great time writing it and seeing where my ideas take me.

I kept my fingers crossed that USF would place me with Pine View and here I am! I hope that I can count on each of you to help me discover the many wonderful things that make this school the best!
