Endecott-Endicott Family Association, Inc.

On June 1, 2002 during the 1st Endecott-Endicott Cousins Reunion in Lexington, KY, a proposal was presented to formally organize the Endecott-Endicott Family Association, Inc. After discussion, a motion was made and unanimously agreed to do so. There are 14 Charter Members of the EFA, Inc.

Purpose: To continue the quest to perpetuate the Endecott-Endicott family heritage; conduct historical preservation projects; conduct research to enhance our family history and genealogy on the knowns and unknowns of that heritage; financially support these efforts and to accomplish various goals.

Goals:

1. Continue to research, share and assist one another in our common heritage on the ancestry and descendants of Governor John Endecott (1588-1665), The First Governor in the Massachusetts Bay (1629)[1][2] and The Father of New England.[3]

2. Endeavor to establish the exact ancestry in England of Governor John Endecott.

3. Identify other Endecott-Endicott Cousins around the United States

and abroad (Canada, Australia, England and other foreign countries) and for those abroad, possible Endecott-Endicott connections with their American Cousins.

4. Develop and maintain an ongoing database on all known Endecott-Endicott ancestors and their descendants. (ONGOING)

5. Develop and sustain the Endecott-Endicott Family History Library and Archives as the official depository for all known genealogical and historical information on our Endecott-Endicott heritage. (ONGOING)

6. Hold Endecott-Endicott Cousins Reunions, as appropriate. (1ST Cousins Reunion held May 31-June 2, 2002 in Lexington, KY; 2ND Cousins Reunion held June 4-6, 2004 in Lexington, KY; 3rd Cousins Reunion held June 7-11, 2006 in Historic New Harmony, Posey County, Indiana; the 4th Cousins Reunion held June 12-15, 2008 in Historic New Harmony, Posey County, Indiana and the 5th Cousins Reunion was held in the Boston, MA area June 17-22, 2012 with Endicott College as our host).

7. Develop and maintain semi-annual (Fall-Winter/Spring-Summer) Endecott-Endicott Family Association, Inc. Newsletter/Journal -Our Endicott Heritage Trail.(GUIDELINES COMPLETED and UPDATED--CALL FOR ARTICLES AND INFORMATION)

8. Sponsor Discussion Forums on chosen Endecott-Endicott ancestors and participate in other research at (BEGAN February 1, 2003)

9. Develop a membership program to support (ONGOING)

  1. The further enhancement of the Association
  2. One another in our Endecott-Endicott research efforts - a clearinghouse
  3. The fostering and enrichment of the Endecott-Endicott heritage
  4. The financial health of the Association

10. Promote the Endecott-Endicott Family Association, Inc. on the ; Endicott GENFORUM and other Internet links; the Association Newsletter/Journal; Endicott Cousins’ Reunions; individual contacts and other means as well.

11. Develop and maintain an EFA, Inc. web site. (ONLINE JULY 1, 2003)

12. Plan and conduct such memorial projects that would recognize and honor our Endecott-Endicott ancestors.

18. Encourage other Endecott-Endicott descendants, related surnames and interested individuals/organizations to participate in our efforts and activities.
