2016 16thInternational Symposium and Exhibition on CBM/CMM and Shale Gas in China will be held on September 7-9, 2016 in Jinnian Hotel, Jincheng, Shanxi Province of P.R. China. Organized by China Coal Information Institute and Jincheng Anthracite Mining Group, the two-and-half day Symposium is supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and State Administration of Coal Mine Safety, P.R. China. Over 300 participants from domestic and overseas are expected to attend the Symposium and Exhibition.
Conference Background
The International Symposium on CBM/CMM and Shale Gas in China, as an international communication platform in CBM sector in China, brings together an international group to share experiences, project-oriented solutions to the problem of CBM/CMM development.
An unconventional natural gas-shale gas, as a new topic of interest, is also included in this Symposium, where industry researchers, government advisers and technical supporters will be invited to discuss policies relating to the shale gas industry, current development of the industry, E&D technology and commercialization strategies. This Symposium aims to build up a bridge for sharing shale gas development expertise and experiences, learn lessons and enhance cooperation within the industry.
Why to attend?
The total CMM drainage volumein 2015reached 13.57 billion m3with the low utilization of 4.76 billion m3. TheCBM production in 2015 was about 4.37 billion m3, and the utilization reached 3.81 billion m3.Based on the current status of CBM development and utilization, the development of CBM industry in China should both take reference of the advanced experience from other countries and summarize the successful cases and lessons learned from the CBM development and utilization in recent years. With the rapid growth of coal production and the implementation of coal mine rectifying and closure in China, a large amount of gassy coal mine with exhausted resources and unsafe production conductions were closed, so the recovery and utilization of abandoned coal mine methane (AMM) has great potential and will be one of the important topics of the Symposium.
