OmniBus VDRCS Installation Instructions
The following procedure can be used to install the required OmniBus applications on Profile model 100, 200, 300 & 400 series.
Important Note: Installation of VDRCS on the Profile XP series requires a different procedure.
From the Profile Desktop
Profile VDRCS
- Copy the optional VDRCS_v150_b54_pc.exe and portmapper&services.exe to the profile c:\temp
- double click on the files installed in step 1 to install them using c:\ as target
- edit c:\App_Omn\Appstart.bat using the following information…

4. edit c:\App_Omn\VDRCS\!Run.bat as follows...

5. Make a shortcut from c:\App_Omn\Appstart.bat on the desktop
6. Test that VDRCS starts by double clicking on the shortcut created in step 5
From the Kalypso Menu Display
System Configuration
(Make sure that the PC and Profile are both connected to the network and that their IP addresses are on the same subnet)
- Start Sharer
- Start system manager
- Start OUI
- Log On to sharer (user SYS, no password)
- Access system manager by clicking on right-hand red switch on OUI taskbar
- Access ENGINES menu and ADD engine with IP address of the sharer/sysman pc
- Name engine added in step 6. "MANAGER" (without quotes), click on MODIFY
- Access APPLICATIONS menu and ADD application "!APP_MAN3" (without quotes)
- Name Application added in step 8. "SYSTEM MANAGER 3" (without quotes), click on MODIFY
- Access ENGINES menu and select "MANAGER" engine
- ADD application "SYSTEM MANAGER 3" to "MANAGER" engine, click on MODIFY
- Access stations menu and add workstation "OUI-1" (without quotes)
- ADD local applications: Machine Control Panel, Router Panel, Filer-Fax and Omni-Pager, click on MODIFY
- Log off and log on again, select START, make sure SYSTEM MANAGER 3 application is available
- Log on to SYSTEM MANAGER 3
- Run VDRCS on the Profile by double clicking on Appstart.bat on the Profile desktop
- Access ENGINES menu on system manager and add engine with the Profile IP address
- Name engine added in step 17 "Profile1" (without quotes), click on MODIFY
- Access APPLICATIONS menu on system manager and add application "!APP_VDRCS"
- Name application added in step 19 "Profile1" (without quotes), click on MODIFY
- Access ENGINES menu in system manager and select engine Profile1
- ADD application "Profile1", click on MODIFY
- PING the Profile from the system manager, it should respond.
- POLL the Profile from the system manager, it should respond with "!APP_VDRCS idling at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx “(ip address)
- Exit system manager
- Click on START in the OUI, Profile1 should appear as an application
- Log on to Profile1
- Select CONFIG
- Enter name "Profile1" (without quotes)
- Select Port 1 and set device type to Profile PDRx00 (depending on which type of Profile you have)
- Set Protocol to Profile API
- Set Chnl No. to 1
- Set Chnl. ID. to 1
- enable channel 1
- Repeat steps 30-34 for the other channels (substituting the appropriate channel, port and ID numbers)
- Click on SAVE to save configuration
- Exit VDRCS
- Access Local Machine Control Panel on OUI
- Select ADD, the following list of devices should appear... (assuming a 4-channel Profile)
