David Martin, Executive Officer of Oldham Coliseum Theatre comments:

“Our industrious touring programme will help to build the Coliseum’s reputation as a producing theatre on a national scale. We’re delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with other great theatre companies and expand our pool of work.”

The Picture of Doreen Grayis Sue Ryding and Maggie Fox’s trademark comedy re-working of Oscar Wilde’s classic Gothic novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. Updated to the present day, Doreen is a 50-year-old successful radio presenter who stumbles across a youthful self-portrait at a school reunion and makes a dark pact. The Picture of Doreen Grayreceived its world premiere at the Coliseum in October 2014.

The Mist in the Mirrorhad its world premiere at Oldham Coliseum Theatre on Friday 30 January. Directed by the Coliseum’s CEO and Artistic Director Kevin Shaw,The Mist in The Mirror is the second full length ghost story by Susan Hill, following The Woman in Black. Hill’s novel has been adapted by award-winning playwright Ian Kershaw with the production featuring stunning projections from imitating the dog.

Set in a retirement home for pantomime actors,Forever Young is a heartfelt musical comedy featuring a string of songs from popular music. Forever Young has enjoyed three sell-out runs at Nottingham Playhouse and is currently on its first UK tour in co-production with the Coliseum.

Written in 1910 by Stanley Houghton, Hindle Wakes was a hugely controversial play as it explored the sexual double-standards of the time, female emancipation and was one of the first to have a working class female lead.Hindle Wakes opens at Octagon Theatre Bolton on Thursday 19 February.
