The Old RandallCemetery is located in section 23 of Ellsworth Township, Hamilton County, Iowa. This small cemetery sits on a small hill overlooking rich farm ground and is just to the north of the Mt. Olive Cemetery, in Randall, Iowa.
This cemetery is a Hamilton County Pioneer Cemetery.
The cemetery is sometimes called the Danish Cemetery. The first burial was made on a farm, the family later allowing a cemetery to be established there. According to the trustee book, the first person buried in the cemetery was Paul Christian, who died in 1882. There arefour veterans identified in the cemetery.
Directions to the cemetery:
The cemetery is located north of the town of Randall, in the southern part of Hamilton County. The main East-West street in Randall (from Highway 69 or from I-35) is Long Street. Continue on Long Street and turn north on 3rdStreet. 3rdStreet will turn into Tollman Ave. as it becomes a grave road. Continue north on TollmanAve. approx. ¼ mile until you reach a “T” intersection. The Old Randall Cemetery will be at the “T” intersection. Mt. Olive will be on the left.
The cemetery is in a pretty location and well maintained; there is not a sign identifying the cemetery.
