This is an appeal committee. It replaces the KIMEP Faculty Disciplinary Committee as proposed by a KIMEP Council Task force. This Committee will deal with all appeal cases for faculty, staff and students. Disciplinary procedures for faculty shall follow the procedures established in the Faculty Code of Practice 2006. Current disciplinary procedures for students and staff remain in force until changes are approved.
Important differences from previous policy:
- Minutes of College Disciplinary cases for both faculty and Students are to be submitted to the Vice-President for Academic Affairs. Any appeals are to be launched with the Vice-President for Academic Affairs. The Vice-President for Academic Affairs will inform the Executive Vice-President of the appeal. After consultation with the President, the Vice-President for Academic Affairs will bring the matter before the KIMEP Disciplinary Committee. Decisions of the Committee shall be communicated by the Vice-President for Academic Affairs.
- For Staff discipline, all cases must be referred to the Vice-President for Administration and Finance. He / she will deal with cases following the procedures established in the HR policy. Any appeals are to be launched with the Executive Vice-President who, after consultation with the Vice-President for Administration and Finance and the President, will bring the matter before the KIMEP Disciplinary Committee. Decisions of this committee shall be communicated by the Vice-President for Administration and Finance.
