Week of Respect

MES staff reinforced the CARES program under the framework of our “Week of Respect” campaign, October 7-11, 2013. Each day a different MES CARES theme was celebrated through announcements, morning meetings, lessons, etc. Respect for self, others, and our school was incorporated through different activities.

School wide meeting

Now that the children have been introduced to CARES we are ready to create rules for the common areas (cafeteria, playground, hallways, restrooms, busses) of our school. So all students have a voice in this process, teachers will spend some time this week discussing what it needs to look and sound like in our common areas so we can be safe and comfortable and respectful of each other. Teachers will select a delegate from each classroom. Delegates will meet with Lubertazzo and my self on Monday, October 21, 2013, at 2:00 PM. The entire school will participate in our first school-wide Morning Meeting on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 8:50 AM in the gym. During the sharing portion of the meeting, the delegates will present the new rules.
