Linfield Curriculum Requirements (checked boxes are fulfilled by nursing prerequisites):

The Linfield Curriculum is required for all students earning a Linfield degree. Students are strongly advised to complete Linfield Curriculum requirements prior to migrating to the Portland campus.

 Inquiry Seminar (INQS 125) / Upper Division– a 300-400 level course outside of your major, with one of the following modes of inquiry: CS, IS, NW, QR, UQ or VP.

Migration Eligibility Requirements:

  • C or better in each prerequisite course (except INQS 125) at the time of application and migration. (If a student has already taken a prerequisite course and has a C or better, they have to submit that grade on the Intercampus Transfer Application for Nursing. A student is welcome to retake a course for a better grade, which they can submit by the final deadline to replace the first grade they submitted. However, the initial grades will be used to determine eligibility at the time of application).
  • 3.0 GPA in the prerequisite coursework listed on front of page at the time of application AND at the time of migration.
  • Must complete 62 transferable credits before starting in the Nursing program on the Portland campus. Students who intend to complete only nursing major coursework in Portland should complete at least 71 credits, and satisfy all requirements common to all Linfield Bachelor’s degrees, prior to starting the nursing major.
  • 30 credits completed at McMinnville campus prior to starting on the Portland campus.
  • Minimum of 18 semester credits of nursing prerequisites (including a minimum 8 semester credits of lab science courses) is required at time of application.

Nursing Migration Eligibility Requirements 16-17:

Completion of all prerequisite course requirements by the date posted on the application calendar.

At the time of application and migration, a minimum grade of Cin each of the prerequisite course requirements.(If a student has already taken a prerequisite course and has a C or better, they have to submit that grade on the Intercampus Transfer Application for Nursing. A student is welcome to retake a course for a better grade, which they can submit by the final deadline to replace the first grade they submitted. However, the initial grades will be used to determine eligibility at the time of application).

Completion of a minimum of 18 semester credits of nursing prerequisites (including a minimum 8 semester credits of lab science courses) is required at time of application.

At the time of application and the date posted on the application calendar, a minimum 3.00 GPA for all transferable prerequisite course requirements (Linfield curriculum, paracurricular and elective courses excluded).

Residency status: Must complete at least 30 credits of course work at Linfield to be considered a resident Linfield student.

Degree progress:Must complete 62 transferable credits before starting in the Nursing program on the Portland campus. Students who intend to complete only nursing major coursework in Portland should complete at least 71 credits, and satisfy all requirements common to all Linfield Bachelor’s degrees, prior to starting the nursing major.

Leave of Absence: Leave of absences will not be permitted for the sole purpose of completing nursing prerequisite classes at another institution except in special circumstances and approved by petition through Enrollment Services.

All Linfield students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above to migrate and graduate.
