Nurse Practitioner, Sante Medical, Calgary.
Sante Medical is undergoing a major transformation in 2015 and is dedicated to“Enhancing wellness, vitality and confidence through excellence in medicine and science.” Our fast paced and growing practice has a full-time Nurse Practitioner position available. We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual with the ability to multi-task, communicate effectively and provide leadership to the nursing team.
Accountabilities - Key
· Perform assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health education/counselling and other clinical activities according to the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) standards of practice Nurse Practitioners (NPs).
· Initiates treatment, therapeutic interventions and prescribes medications in accordance to statutory and regulatory standards, limits and conditions, policies and guidelines.
· Practices autonomously and independently within the context of the multidisciplinary team
· Conduct health screening assessments as required.
· Order/interpret results of screening, diagnostic lab tests and ultrasounds
· May contribute to the Clinics on-call services.
· Contribute to chart documentation, chart reviews and make referrals.
· Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment plans, education programs and service delivery for individuals and groups.
· Some involvement with clinic administration including policy and protocol development
· Provide guidance and leadership to the nursing (RN & LPN) team and other health professionals.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Licensure
· Post-Masters Nurse Practitioner (NP) Diploma - Specializing in the Family All Ages or Adult category with current, or eligible for, unrestricted registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
· Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience
· Strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical and planning skills
· Knowledge and familiarity with Vein Therapy and Cosmetic procedures desirable, specific training will be provided if required
· Ability to communicate with patients and consult or refer to other health professionals when appropriate
· Demonstrate ability to self- assess and be accountable for own professional development
· Ability to address legal and ethical issues that may arise
· Proficient in the use of computers and various software applications.
· Patent focused
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Work within a flexible environment with a focus on team work
· Maintain a professional appearance and demeanour at all times
