NSS PTA AFTERS SPRING 2016

PROGRAM GUIDELINES

Eligibility: All North Street School Students Grades K-5 are eligible to participate in the Spring 2016Afters Program. Any family needing financial assistance should contact the school Principal.

Registration: To register for the Spring 2016session, complete one waiver form and one registration/pledge form, per child. Waiver forms are mandatory for enrollment. Any changes, updates, or requests required after your form is submitted, must be emailed to: . Late registrations require a $25.00 fee per child.

Enrollment: We will make every effort to accommodate your requests. However, classes that are undersubscribed at the end of registration week (5 student minimum) may be canceled. Classes that are oversubscribed will be handled by first come, first served during the registration week, unless circumstances dictate a more fair alternate resolution. If you do not submit your registration during registration week,it is not guaranteed a spot will be available for your child in a class.

Payment and Refunds: DO NOT staple checks to forms!! Please provide separate checks, each payable to NSS PTA, for each student and each class choice. On the memo line of the check, write the first and last name of the child you are enrolling. Unused checks will be torn up, not returned. There will be a one-week trial period for each class. Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to o later than the end of the first week, as thereafter all checks will be non-refundable. We DO NOT pro-rate classes. If you enroll late you are expected to pay the late fee in addition to the full class fee.

Non-Payment: Full payment must be received in a timely manner. Failure to do so will result in your child/ren being unable to register for future Afters sessions, until payment due is received.

Class Lists: During the week following registration week, class lists will be emailed. This is the only email confirmation you will receive. DO NOT call the school office. If you have any questions about enrollment, please contact the Afters coordinator at .

Class Details: Befores classes begin at 7:45am (Mandarin classes begin at 8:00am)and end at 8:30am. Afters classes begin at 3:15pm and end at 4:15pm. There will be no childcare provided prior to Befores or at the end of Afters. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE FIRE ZONE ON THE CIRCLE !!!

Befores Drop-Off: Please beprompt, arriving as close to 7:45am(8:00am for Mandarin) as possible. If you arrive more than 5 minutes prior to the start of the class, your child will be sent to NSS Mornings, and you will be charged the daily $10 fee per child. If your child is brought into NSS Mornings, the instructor will release your child to their Befores class at 7:45am (8:00am for Mandarin), but the NSS Mornings fee will still be due.

Afters Dismissal: An adult must meet all students outside the Main Entrance door (next to the Media Center). Students will not be released unless they are met by a parent or caregiver and only the Main Entrance door will be used for Aftersdismissal.PLEASE DO NOT ENTER INSIDE THE BUILDING TO WAIT FOR YOUR CHILD.

Late Pick-Up: There will be one warning given to a parent/caregiver who picks up their child/ren more than 10 minutes late from an Afters class. After that initial warning, if a parent is 10 or more minutes late for pick-up they will be charged $20 per child per 10 minutes. Children will not be permitted to attend their next class with an outstanding late fee and repeated late pick-ups may result in a child being dropped from the class without a refund and/or an inability to register for future classes.

** NEW** Make Ups: Make ups will not be scheduled for delayed openings, early dismissals or other unanticipated school closings, such as inclement weather.

Behavior: Parents will be notified of any disruptive behavior. NSS School policy regarding behavior, shall apply. Disruptive behavior could result in dismissal from Afters without a refund. Your child must sign the student pledge, and is expected to abide by it.

Absences: If a student has an excused absence from school (other than for illness), he/she can attend Afters. A student present in school but absent from Afters mustprovide a note to his/her teacher advising of the planned absence.
