Notice on information and data accuracy in the Inventory for Germany

Due to the wide variety and great number of measures and bodies concerned, this Inventory cannot give a complete, systematic and representative picture of the situation in Germany. There were no information provided by German authorities and the OECD Secretariat has pooled the available information from official sources into this inventory. In so far as this had been based on the development plans of the year 2000, there might have been several changes and further developments in the meantime. The Federal Government is unfortunately not in a position to complete and update these entries. The accuracy of the information provided can therefore not be guaranteed. Unfortunately, the entries cannot be completed and updated by the Länder either. The accuracy of the information cannot be guaranteed.

• For the application of organic Nitrogen Fertiliser based on animal products, losses through leaching must not exceed 20% of the applied fertiliser.
• For this purpose, the machinery used for the application of fertiliser has to appropriate.
• The responsible local administration can decide on minimum distances between the area of fertiliser application and open freshwater systems.
• In areas prone to flooding, fertiliser can only be applied after the end of the expected flooding period.
• Nitrogen Fertiliser can only be applied when the soil is in the condition to absorb Nitrogen. This is not the case for water-saturated or frozen soil or for soil covered by snow
