Notice of Competition

Art. 1 (Event Type)

“MAB – Maria Antonietta Berlusconi First International Ballet Awardfor young dancers” is an International competition focused on BALLET technique.

Art. 2 (Candidates)

Dancers who can apply to the Competition:

a. individual dancers, within two categories, subdivided by age as follows:

• juniores (candidates must be between 13 and 16 years within 31.12.2010)

• seniores (candidates must be between 17 and 24 years old within 31.12.2010)

b. groups(choreographies, including pas de deux and duo), with no age limits.

For groups, the participantconcernedshall be the corresponding choreographer

Art. 3 (Participation Terms)

• The committee judgement is UNQUESTIONABLE and adhering implies explicitacceptance of this condition.

• All candidatesmust bring their stage costumes, in line with the performance theme, and wear it along all the competitionrounds.

• Candidates must comply with the rules, programming and logistic arrangements set by the Competition Committee. Failure to do so mayresult in disqualification.

• NO fees are required for registration/enrolment

• For candidates applying to Semi-final / Final rounds,the Insurance against accident is in charge of the Organization Committee.

• Each participant is required to thoroughly complete the Registration form and send it along with the following documents:

a. Birth Certificate

b. Health certificate with ECG attached (a recent Electrocardiography or Echocardiography)

c. Medical certificate stating the candidate is able to do sports and classical / modern dance (it is also possible to provide a Medical certificate for agonistic activities). The documentation mentioned will be returned upon request by the end of the Competition.

d. copy of the passport for non-European Union citizens

e. two passport-size photographs;

f. video of maximum 2 minutes for individuals and maximum 6 minutes for groups

(EXCLUSIVELY onDVD or USB key, in the following formats: .mpg; .Dvx; .wmv)

• Candidates will have to bring their music tracks recorded in CD or cassette.

Recordings CONSIDERED UNPROFESSIONAL (as being incomplete, noisy, rustling, etc.) can be rejected by the Committee Jurythus causing disqualification.

Art. 4 (Timetable and activity structure)

The competition is subdivided in 3 phases:

?1st PHASE orPreliminary round

Candidates are required to post self-made digital videos (DVD or USB – FORMATS .mpg;. Dvx; .wmv), length not to exceed 2 minutes for individuals and 6 minutes for groups.

For individuals therepertoire piece must be chosen by the candidate.

For groups, the original choreography is created by the choreographer concerned.

Deadline for posting video documentation to the Committee:

29 March 2010 (to be posted via mail– the date of the registration shall be treated as the postmark date)

Evaluation subjects:

• for dancers: connection to classic or neoclassic style; preparation;

executing skills and performing technical abilities

• for groups: connection to classic or neoclassic style, creativity and composition skills of the choreographer, performing ability of the dancers

?2nd PHASE or Semi-final round (14\15\16 May 2010 – Rocca Civalieri, Alessandria)*.

Performance.

The proof consists in a live exhibition, held in a suitable and properly equipped build

indicated by the Committee.

For Individualdivision, for both categories, candidates are supposed to exhibit a choreography select by the Committee between two proposed by the candidate (only classic and/or neoclassic styles are accepted).

For Groups, the original choreography proposed is in charge of the choreographer concerned (only classic and/or neoclassic styles are accepted)

Evaluation subjects:

• for individual dancers: connection to classic/neoclassic style, virtuosity and performing personality

• for groups: connection to classic/neoclassic style, composition originality, ability to create a shared artistic project with cohesion.

?3rd PHASE– Final round (03 June2010 – Teatro Manzoni, Milano)*

Performance.

The proof consists in a live exhibition in Manzoni Theatre,Milan, during a special Gala evening related to “PrincipessaDancingSchool” activities.

For Solo division, both categories will exhibit a choreography selected by the Committee, chosen between two proposed by the candidate during the semi-final round(only classic and/or neoclassic styles are accepted).

For Group division, the original choreography proposed is in charge of the choreographer concerned (only classic and/or neoclassic styles are accepted)

Evaluation subject:

• for individuals: excellence

• for groups: excellence

The winners will participate as guest dancersto thefinal Dance Recital of“Principessa

Dancing School”, which will be held in Manzoni Theatre, Milan, on 5th e 6th June 2010.

The event timetable may change according to organizational needs. Any update will be opportunely communicated by the Organization Committee.

Art. 5 (Travel and Accomodation)

• For candidates admitted to the semi-final round (and who leave more than 150 km away from the hotel) the accommodation is offered and arranged by the Organization Committee (Relais Rocca Civalieri 4****, Quattordio – AL ).The transfers are to be paid directly and autonomously by the candidates.

• For candidates admitted to the final round (and who leave more than 150 km away from the hotel) the accommodation is offered and arranged by the Competition Committee(Relais Rocca Civalieri 4****, Quattordio – AL

The transfers are to be paid directly and autonomously by the candidates, except for the transport to the Theatrefrom the hotel and vice-versa

• Underage candidates have to be accompanied by a responsible adult,as follows:

- “individuals”: one accompanying person for each candidate

- “groups”: one accompanying person for each group

The accommodation for accompanying persons is offered. Transport transfers are at their expenses as indicated above.

• No accompanying person is expected for adult candidates

Art. 6 (Support lessons)

During semi-final and final rounds,candidates will be provided masterclasses held by Dance experts appointed by the Committee. The classes are free and constitute a support for the performing activities.Attendance is mandatory.

Art. 7 (Proof results communication and Attendance confirmation)

Proof results will be communicated, via telegram posted to the address indicated in the

Registration form, only to those admitted to the next round. Candidates must reply, confirming their participation, via fax to (39)0289423705 no later thanthree days after receiving the telegram.

Art. 8 (Prizes)

The winners will be awarded a cashprize as follows:

• SenioresCategorydancer (male/female) (1st Prize) - € 4.000,00 (four thousand)

• SenioresCategorydancer (male/female) (2ndPrize) - € 2.000,00 (two thousand)

• Juniores Categorydancer (male/female) (1stPrize) - € 1.500,00 (one thousand five hundred)

• Juniores Categorydancer (male/female) (2ndPrize) - € 500,00 (five hundred)

• Best Group Choreography(1stPrize) - € 4.000,00 (four thousand)

• Best Group Choreography (2ndPrize) - € 2.000,00 (two thousand)

For dancers assigned a special honourable mention, the Committee intend to offer further non-cashprizes,aimed to support their education and professional activities.

Art. 9 (Evaluation)

The Committee’s judgement is unquestionable.

ALL THE DOCUMENTATION HAVE TO BE POSTED ALONG WITH THE REGISTRATION FORM. For Groups Division, the form and related documentation will have to be provided by the choreographer and each member of the group.

The Registration form and documentation will be accepted by the Competition Committee until 29.03.2010. The date of registration shall be treated as the postmark date.

Requests sent without the complete documentation or posted after the deadline (29.03.2010) will not be accepted.

Personal Data Processing Information

Regarding personal information submitted to ASS. MAB and which will be subject of processing, in compliance with the Art. 13 L.D.196/2003, we hereby inform you of the following:

a) Collected data. Personal information collected by ASS. MAB are exclusively those provided by the candidate while submitting the Registration and Participation forms to “ MAB –Maria Antonietta Berlusconi First International Ballet Award for young dancers” , according to the procedures reported in the attached RULES

b) Purpose of Processing. Personal information will be processed and used for accounting and administrativemanagement. In detail, ASS. MAB may use the data submitted in order to inform the candidate regarding ASS. MAB and /or third parties activities. The information provided will be processed and kept by ASS. MAB in compliance to the rules currently applied for the purposes previously indicated, unless the candidate explicitly revokes the authorisation for processing such information.

c) Method of Processing. Information is processed using any operation or group of operations indicated in the Art. 4 comma 1° L.D. 196/2003, and is realised with help of manual or data processing tools; the information submitted will be kept on magnetic tape or paper support, always according to security requirements provided for by law. Personal information can be processed as per purposes indicated in b), also via fax, SMS and other computerized and/or automated systemsfor data communication and transmission.

d) Provision of Personal Information. The candidate is free to submit or not his personal information.

e) Refusal to submit Personal Information. The refusal to submit personal information may imply the impossibility to benefit from the services provided by ASS. MAB

f) Communication of Personal Information. ASS. MAB within its institutional activity, may also comunicate personal information to third parties in charge of executing tasks connected and useful to services supplied.

g) Broadcasting and Transferring data overseas. The personal information submitted to ASS. MAB is not broadcasted or transferred overseas.

h) Processing Owner and responsible. The Owner and responsible for processing the Personal information is ASS. MAB , head office details:
