1. MINUTES MARCH 17, 2009 MEETING
The minutes of the meeting were approved as written.
2. GRADUATE STUDENT SERVICES REORGANIZATION
Sara Varhus presented a proposed reorganization of Graduate Student Services. She will soon communicate this to the college community.
3. ENROLLMENT UPDATE
· Applications, offers, and deposits paid to date are on target for the projected entering call in fall 2009 of 465 full-time freshmen.
· 160 applicants attended Experience Naz on Monday, March 30. Included were two buses of prospective students arriving on campus – one from downstate NY and the other from the eastern NY/New England area. This is the largest group ever for an Experience Naz event and the feedback has been positive. The prospective students have been connecting with one another on the new social networking web site. The comments are the best advertisements because they are from the applicants themselves who are in immediate communication with each other. The postings regarding Experience Naz there have been very positive.
· Three receptions have recently been held – Albany, Syracuse, and Buffalo. Recent graduates participated in a panel discussion with prospective students.
· Graduate numbers regarding applications and offers are up compared to this time last year, while deposits are unchanged.
· The Financial Aid staff moved this week to the lower level of Smyth Hall, directly across from Student Accounts.
4. UPDATES
· The School of Management will hold its second annual alumni golf tournament on May 29, 2009. This coincides with Alumni Weekend. All proceeds benefit the Michael Dianetti ’83, ’86G Scholarship at Nazareth College. All are welcome to participate.
· The Intellectual Properties Statement is near final draft form and will soon be shared with the full faculty.
5. ARTS CENTER
Following the meeting discussion, Michael LaPointe led senior staff on a tour of the Arts Center construction project.
