SUPER THIEF OF CAR MUSIC SYSTEM ARRESTED -

ONE CAR AND 43 MUSIC SYSTEMS RECOVERED

With the arrest of Ishtyak s/o Babu Khan r/o Govindpuram Ghaziabad UP. South District Police has solved out the 22 cases of theft of car music systems and accessories in South District. Ishtyak alone had committed the series of thefts in the posh areas of South Ex, Safdarjung Enclave and GreenPark area of South Delhi after his release from Bhondsi Jail Haryana.

INCIDENT

On the wee hours of 17.12.2009 PCR call was received in Police Station Hauz Khas regarding the theft of articles including expensive music system from several Luxury cars in the area of South Ex Part II. Later on, similar kind of incident involving theft of expensive music system from the several cars parked in the area of PS Safdar Jung Enclave had taken place using same modus operandi of braking quarter glass of rear doors of the parked vehicles.

INVESTIGATION, TEAM & INTERROGATION

In view of the sudden spurt of the theft of the music system by targeting cars parked in the same area, a dedicated team comprising of SI Rajeev Kumar, ASI Bijender Singh, HCs Islamudin, Hukam Chand, Sanjeev Kumar, Dara Singh, Cts. Omender,. Kishore, Manoj, Kousar Mehandi, Muninder, Lav Kumar, Anil Kumar was constituted under the supervision of Inspr. Atul Kumar SHO/Hauz Khas and Shri Mehar Singh, ACP/Hauz Khas. During the course of investigation the police team started working in this direction to crack the crime involving series of incidents of thefts. During the investigation the police team started working on these cases and found that one Hyundai Accent Car White colour was seen moving suspiciously around the place of incidents and the police team also found that one accused namely Istiyak was responsible for commission of similar offences by using same modus operandi. The police team further developed information and started following suspicious movement of Istiyak and during this process it was found that the same person is having one white Hyundai Accent car with defective number plate and has been seen making attempts to dispose off stolen music systems of cars some where in Ghaziabad. On receiving a secret information Istiyak was arrested from Ghaziabad and one white Hyundai Accent car bearing defective registration plate was seized from the possession of accused and from the search of car, one base ball bat and two

iron rods used to break open the quarter glass, one torch (to peep into the car) and ten music systems of branded companies which were stolen from the various car were recovered. During police custody remand 33 more music systems of different branded companies, 8 speakers, 12 amplifiers, one pen drive, two CPUs of computers were also recovered at his instance from his kabari shop.

MODUS-OPERANDI

Ishtyak used to operate like a one man army. He used to come to area of operation in his luxury car in the late night to avoid checking and detection by the police team and select the target in the dark area where the cars had been parked in lots. After parking his car, he used to show away the dogs lurking around so that he can carry out his operation without any hindrance. Thereafter he would immediately break open the quarter glass of rear window with the help of iron rod and then get into the car and using small torch, he would remove music systems and other articles within a few minutes. After committing series of thefts, he used to escape in his own car.

PROFILE

Ishtyak was born in a poor family in Meerut District UP and is an illiterate. He runs a Kabari shop in the area of Ghaziabad. He is married and father of four children. First, he was arrested in 1998 in a theft case of P.S. Preet Vihar in East District. After his release from the jail, he again started committing similar offences. He was recently bailed out from Bhondsi Jail Haryana. He was arrested by Gurgaon Police when he was committing theft in sector 40 Gurgaon. Accused Ishtyak was also recently arrested by the police station Hauz Khas in April 2009 with a huge recovery of music system and 18 cases of the South District were solved out during that time.

GANG OF AUTO LIFTERS/SNATCHERS INVOLVED IN VARIOUS CRIMINAL CASES BUSTED

With the arrest of two auto lifters/Snatchers along with the recovery of stolen motorcycles and a laptop, SOUTH-WEST District Anti Auto Theft Squad has succeeded in busting a gang of auto lifters operating in South-West and South Distt. A tip off was received at AATS Office that about Auto Lifter/Snatcher Devender @ Chintu and his associate acting on this impeccable information a raiding party constituted in the supervision of Inspr. Padam Singh Rana in order to conduct the raid. All out efforts were made and the raiding party overpowered and apprehended two criminals along with the stolen motor cycle while they were coming near to Hi-Mirch Restaurant & Bar sec-12 Dwarka. The two criminals namely (1) Devender @ Chintu@ Mela s/o Ravinder Singh Negi r/o Gali no.10 Raj Nagar Part-II Palam Colony, New Delhi age 20 years and (2) Amit Sharma s/o Naveen sharma r/o RZH 717 Gali no.5 Raj Nagar Part-II Palam Colony,New Delhi 20 years are previously involved in different cases of auto lifting, theft & snatching. During the sustained interrogation of accused persons it is also revealed that Devender @ Chintu @ Mela is the gang leader of these auto lifters and have committed three auto lifting cases of motor cycles and one snatching of a laptop mobile and cash of Rs.15000/- within last two months, after his release from the jail in a previous case. Devender @ Chintu is involved in seven criminal cases where as accused Amit Sharma s/o Naveen Sharma is involved in two criminal cases. On sustained interrogation, two other motorcycles and one laptop are recovered on their instance and three cases of auto lifting and one case of snatching of South west Distt. have been solved.

A Nagar Kirtan on the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Jee, organized by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, is taken out every year from Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. This year the procession will start at about 10 AM on 03-01-2010 from Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib and is likely to terminate late in the evening at Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, Hari Nagar. The route of the procession will be as below:-

Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Shahib, Talkatora Road, Shankar Road, Rajender Nagar, Patel Nagar, Ranjeet Nagar, Shadi Pur Depot, Moti Nagar, Najafgarh Road, Kirti Nagar, Ramesh Nagar, Raja Garden, Rajouri Garden, Subhash Nagar Mor, Tilak Nagar, Jail Road, Hari Nagar Depot, Clock Tower Hari Nagar, Beri Wala Baghand Guru Teg Bahadur Institute of Technology,

There is likelihood of slowing down and congestion of traffic along the route of procession. The areas likely to be affected are New Delhi, parts of Central Delhi and West Delhi. The Ring Road at RajaGarden is also likely to be affected. General public and motorists are advised to avoid the above mentioned routes and co-operate with and follow the directions of Traffic policeman posted all along the route of procession to avoid inconvenience.

Citizens are requested to avoid using their personal vehicles and make use of Delhi Metro.
